HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GT30N

Hello everyone,

A simple question, I just bought an Asus laptop from the N series (X64jv) with Win7 64bit, it has a DVD burner titled hl-d-t-st dvdram GT30N (seen in the Windows 7 drivers)

1) What brand is it?
2) I see Blu-ray indicated with the Power2Go software, so it should be able to burn Blu-rays
3) Does it allow burning on the surface of the disc?

None of this is mentioned in the manual and I would like to know if I can buy DVDs that I can write on using burning software.

Thank you!

    Hello,

It is an LG brand burner.

If it says blue-ray, it means it can burn them.

To burn the outer surface of the disc (label), it needs to be Lightscribe (it is also written on it) and have special discs.

It can also be Labelflash, which allows you to burn a label on the same side as the data (special discs).
