Hello, I have a big problem with my PS3 (SLIM), let me explain everything in detail:
I turned on my PS3 with my controller, then I turned off my controller to turn on my second controller (the first one being out of battery). With the second controller, I turned off my PS3.
I wanted to turn my PS3 back on with my controller, but it doesn't work, so I pressed the POWER button, and then the TV doesn't pick up anything, I hear a "Tick tock tick tock tick tock..." in front to the right (where the POWER button is located) on the PlayStation, and after about 1 minute and 30 seconds, the PlayStation sends a message:
"Startup failed.
The appropriate hard disk could not be detected."
What could this be due to?
Could a component have been displaced given that the PlayStation has not received any shock and has never fallen?
Is there an update to be done?
Thank you in advance for your help.

I am a few lengths behind, your problem should be solved by now...!
But know that the "tick tick tock..." you heard is the sure sign that a hard drive is dead! Whether on a console or a PC, they all make the same sound.
In this case, no beating around the bush, it needs to be replaced at all costs.
It is essential to start the console, just like the C:\ drive on a computer!
I hope your problem has been resolved by now and that you were still under warranty!

Yes, my problem is solved, I changed my PS3 since changing the hard drive would be more expensive than just getting a new PS3!

Hello everyone, please listen. On New Year's Eve 2011, I was getting home with my PS3, I plugged it in, and suddenly a message appeared: "Startup failed. The appropriate hard disk could not be detected." And when I turn on my Play, I hear a noise (tick-tock tick...) near the hard drive just below the reader. I was told that it's the hard drive that's faulty. I don't know if I should change the hard drive. Please respond to me, help me out. Thank you for any comments.
