My biggest problem is the math exams and I can't find any exam-type math exercises even in my books... So if someone has any problems they could send me, I'm interested!

    NUMERIC SKILLS

    Ø Mental arithmetic:
o Know how to perform basic calculations by hand: addition, subtraction, multiplication, division...
o Calculations on numerical expressions: expansion, factorization...
o Recognize and use remarkable identities.
o Prime numbers, factor decomposition, GCD, LCM...
o Simplifications and calculations with fractions
o Simplifications and calculations with square roots and powers
o Approximate calculations, decimal and scientific notations...
o Systems of equations: substitution and linear combination

    Ø Problems:
o Counting: socks, gloves, tokens, etc.
o Grouping: school activities, languages, etc. => `potatoes'
o Formulas: calculation of averages, calculation of areas and surfaces...
o Exercises on systems of equations
o Exercises involving trains, cars, bicycles, etc.
o Proportionality: rates, VAT, etc. => tables and cross-multiplication
o Inverse proportionality: canaries, workers, etc. => tables and `inline' products

For books, there are quite a few that discuss this: Collections MASSON, FOUCHIER, NATHAN, DUNOD, etc.
Here are the ISBNs of some (you can take these numbers to the bookseller, and they will find the book):
    o 978-2-216-11257-9
    o 978-2-09-179945-2
    o 978-2-09-160900-3
    o 978-2-7117-1461-2
    o 978-2-7573-0040-7
    o 978-2-10-053420-3
    o 978-2-10-053190-5
These are just a few of the books that exist, the ones I have used so far, and there are certainly others that are just as good.

    Good luck!

    Hello Gaelle,

    In math:
    - mental calculation (being able to do everything by hand, without a calculator or multiplication table at hand) and speed (knowing, for example, remarkable identities, etc.)
    - math problems, almost all of the "cross-product" type, that is to say, proportionality. Then (still cross-products but a bit scarier at first) problems involving trains crossing each other or a pool filling and emptying at the same time...

To tell the truth, preparatory schools are there for that!

      I'm adding an example here:
