I am looking for a small program that allows me to modify the key assignments on the keyboard
e.g. replace ; with . (dot) without having to press the Shift key

So, how can I get a point with that numeric keypad key?

I’d also like to ask a question that has been bothering me for a long time:
I want to unlock the uppercase letters using the shift key and not with the one that locks them.

How can I do this, in language suitable for a computer illiterate, knowing that this problem is ruining my life by forcing me to rewrite many sentences twice?

Hello everyone, it's my first time posting on a forum, I'm a whiz at computers, my laptop which is a Fujitsu Amilo is typing numbers instead of letters and I can't get it back to normal, knowing that I have Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2007.

For Phil: I don't use Word, but Open Office and the options in the "tools" are not the same.

For blux: Moreover, when I enter under the "details" button in the "languages" tab, no matter how much I check "Extend advanced text services to all programs," the "key settings" button remains stubbornly grayed out. Even after restarting my PC, as the system recommends.

I don't know what to do.

Hello,
I have a little problem with my keyboard...
Some keys have changed places, meaning that the + key is no longer in its place (instead of being at the bottom next to the right "shift", it has ended up at the top next to the backspace key)

Let's say my keyboard has become like a laptop keyboard...
Please help me get it back in order...

Good evening everyone, I have an Asus laptop, and the backspace key is difficult to use; I have indeed lost the small pieces that hold the key in place, so today to delete I press directly on the rubber.
I don't think I'll ever be able to fix my key, I was wondering if I could move the backspace key to another key that I don't use.

Thank you, Blux, but I said in my first message that I am terrible at computers.
Here's what you replied to me:
If the button remains grayed out, you need to create a new keyboard (any
one) that allows access to the Key Settings, modify them (for
the French keyboard) then delete the newly created keyboard.
Create a new keyboard? I'm willing to, but I haven't found anywhere
the option to create a new keyboard.
For me, it's like Chinese, so I'm still at the same point.

Personalizing the keys on your keyboard? Well, it's super easy!!!! MICROSOFT has provided this feature since WinXP and later! Just download the "Microsoft Keyboard Layout Creator" from the MS website (or do a quick Google search to find it). This program allows you to assign whatever you want to any key on the keyboard. You can even transform your AZERTY (... crap, I hate it... the bilingual Canadian QWERTY is so practical... But what is Sarko waiting for to change this!!!) You can also decide whether the numeric pad will output a point or a comma, etc... etc...

eternal topic that comes up in various forums  I suggest you try the "Character Generator" developed by LDV MULTIMEDIA. Easier than Microsoft's charmap, it's only 60 KB, portable, free, stays on top, and allows you to copy and paste accented characters in uppercase into the clipboard. If one of your keyboard keys stubbornly refuses to work but you need it in another application, or simply if one of the keys seems poorly placed, you can reassign the keys by downloading the Windows Server 2003 Resource Kit from here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=17657

In this kit, there is a file called remapkey.exe, which allows you to assign keys to others.

At the top, you will see the keyboard as it currently exists, and at the bottom, the target keyboard.

Simply drag and drop the key you want to change to the key of your choice on the keyboard below. Finally, click on the Save and exit button, confirm, and restart the computer to apply the changes.
