Hello,
I want to burn photos onto a 700 MB CD RW knowing that the photos are approximately between 780 and 850 MB. How many photos can I burn onto one CD?
Is 1 MB equal to 1000 MO: is that correct??
Thank you

Byte (not bit!!!) is exactly the same as Octet.
700 MB (Mega Bytes) is therefore the same as 700 Mo (Mega Octets) and because 1 Mo = 1024 Ko (Kilo octets), then 700 Mo = 716,800 Ko!!!
All of this is because we count in base 2 and not in base 10 for computers.
It’s true that some sellers say 1 Mo = 1000 Ko, but that’s not true.
For your photos, for reasons of minimal file size, the total size of your files must be less than the capacity of the CD.
Photos cannot be "between 780 and 850 Mo", check again. -
Hi!
How many photos can I write on one CD?
It depends on the size of the photos. If the photos are downloaded from the internet, in small resolution and compressed, taking up a few kilobytes, you could fit a lot. If the photos are taken with a digital camera, in high resolution, weighing a few megabytes, you will be able to fit significantly fewer.
Check the average size of your photos, do a division, and it will give you an idea.

no:
1MB = 1Mo
1GB = 1000MB
it's just the English term for byte.
so you won't be able to burn all your photos onto the CD; to put them all together, you'll need a DVD. -
Thank you for the information; indeed, the photos are 780 to 900 KB and not MB, I made a mistake. I better understand how many photos I can roughly burn onto my CD-RW. Thank you.

Thank you for this information, I was indeed mistaken; a photo from my digital camera is between 780 to 900 KB and not MB. Now I understand better.
