[Steam] Lost All My Friends

Hello, or rather good evening,

Tonight, while trying to play, I discover that I no longer have any friends on Steam. My “Friends” tab is completely empty. How is this possible? I don't see how this could have happened! WTF!

Has anyone experienced the same hassle? And most importantly, how can I fix it?

Configuration: Windows XP / Firefox 3.5.8

    So I'm reassuring you right away, you're not the only one. Personally, I didn't have the problem, but my little brother who was playing next to me and two colleagues from my team also lost all their Steam friends. But it seems that Steam is currently undergoing maintenance, which could explain these issues.

    Yes, I did some checking on my side too; Valve released the beta version of the graphical overhaul of Steam last night, which explains the small inconveniences we are experiencing.

    As I write these lines, the problem has resolved itself and my friends are back without me having to do anything. If you are experiencing the same issue, patience is your ally; a little Steam reboot can’t hurt.
