Hello,
I have a problem and I'm submitting my question:
I am working on a layout in a Word 2007 document and I would like to know if it is possible to "customize" the margin by imposing a color, creating the effect of a large band on the side of the document.
With the border and shading option, it is impossible except for a few very special shapes that are not aesthetic at all.
Thank you in advance for your answers
Configuration: Windows Vista Internet Explorer 7.0

Hello,

If you want all your margins to be colored, you need to go to the header of your document and draw a colored rectangle in the margin of your document.

Insert tab, Header and Footer group, Header button => Edit Header.

However, be careful with printing... On one hand, printers, in general, cannot print close to the edge, so you will have a white border on each side, and on the other hand, you will drain your ink or toner cartridges!!

Yes, you can customize your letter by creating a colored band.
Just go to Drawing, choose the rectangle shape, click on it and place it in your document on the far left margin, then holding your mouse, stretch it to the length and width you want, and fill it with the color you wish by clicking on the icon (the paint bucket) Fill color. To have no border on your rectangle, click on Line color, No line (before you click on your rectangle).
Be careful with your left margin. You need to move it away from your frame (on your ruler).
Let me know if you’re managing.

But in case it has to be imposed on several pages???
Do I have to redo the operation 100 times or is there another way?
