Hello,
I am on Windows XP Home
I accidentally uninstalled my audio driver, so as a result, I no longer have sound...
I would like to know if anyone knows where I could find the following audio driver:
Intel 82801DB(m) ICH4(-M) - AC'97 Audio Controller [B-0]
I haven't been able to find it on the internet.
Is it possible to install another one that could work in its place?
Thank you for all your responses...

Hello everyone
I did copy the installation before formatting, but unfortunately only the sound card refused to install. Please, I need the driver for this sound card. I've been looking for it for a long time. Thank you -
Here it is.
I installed the driver on a tower with a chipset ^^
but well, the driver is installed correctly but no sound?
Does anyone have a solution?
I went through Everest for the specifications.
Thank you. -

For the built-in audio driver (for Compag or HP EVO5xx PC), you only have one solution:
-- go to https://www.msi.com/redirect/
-- type AC'97 audio device
-- download the driver
-- install it
-- restart PC
-- good luck (except that you will have a message in the device manager: Signature unknown by MICROSOFT)
well here you have to try with another driver. -
Well, well, well, I had the same problem as you and I fixed it by doing this. First, download HD audio... and install it (the installation should work): http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads/downloadsView.aspx?Langid=1&PNid=24&PFid=24&Level=4&Conn=3&DownTypeID=3&GetDown=false
Then, download your sound driver (AC 97): http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads/downloadsView.aspx?Langid=1&PNid=23&PFid=23&Level=4&Conn=3&DownTypeID=3&GetDown=false
After, you want to install it but it will say there was a problem, so tell it to stop. Then go to Control Panel, go to Add Hardware (if you're in classic mode) (also non-printers and other devices, and on the right side you will see Add Hardware) click on it. Next, yes, I already connected..., next, and in the list the last one being add a new... click on it, next and select install the hardware I select..., next, in the list choose audio, video and games, next and now in the list you will see... AC 97 select and next and now select yes this time, next and then I believe it will do it by itself or else, choose to search and install automatically... and now it should work
I hope this helps you

82801..........ICH4 is the name of the Southbridge of the motherboard chipset on which your sound card is installed.
AC'97 is the standard that your sound card complies with.
If you have no other information to provide, we can't do anything for you other than sending you to alllesdrivers.com

Intel 82801 EB ICH5-AC'97 and similar references with AC'97 are not a sound card.
It's the name of the Southbridge of the chipset on which the sound card is installed, and there are dozens of sound card models!
Since among all these cards, those from Realtek are the most common, you can try your luck with these drivers:
https://www.commentcamarche.net/telecharger/utilitaires/8145-drivers-realtek-ac-97-audio/ for OS from Win 98 to XP.
https://www.commentcamarche.net/telecharger/utilitaires/8147-drivers-realtek-ac-97-audio-pour-vista-7/ for Vista and Win 7
If that doesn't work, probably because your sound card is not a Realtek AC'97, please don't add anything here. But as outlined in the CCM charter, open your own discussion; specifying the brand and model of your PC. Or your motherboard if it is not a branded PC.
