screen goes to sleep during video playback Solved

Question

Hello, I don't really understand why, since it has never happened before, but my computer puts my screen to sleep while I'm watching a video. The display settings are set to automatically go to sleep after 10 minutes. But it never used to do that during video playback. Do you have any idea what might be causing this issue and how to fix it? Thank you in advance  PS: I watch my videos with VLC.

no because I do not have vlc but media player 11 that came with Windows.  I am certain that this is the case because realplayer has the same issue.  Another solution is to disable the screen saver during playback. I noticed that although the program is uninstalled, the configuration preferences are still recorded in the registry.  This means that after a reinstallation, the problem persists. So I'm not sure this is a reliable solution. -- Configuration: Windows Vista Home Premium SP2 / Internet Explorer 8.0

Hi, desperate times call for desperate measures. I uninstalled my version of VLC by checking the box "remove preferences and cache" in the uninstall window and installed the latest version of VLC. And it works normally. No more issues. Thank you for your help.
