Split cell diagonally

Hello, I would like to split a cell diagonally in a table created in Word. Is this possible? And if yes, how do we do it? Thank you in advance

Hello,

I'm bringing this topic back just to say that in Word 2010, in the "Borders and Shading" tool of a table, you can manage the borders of the cells (left, top, right, or bottom line) but also a diagonal line.

So it's resolved very well. As for the text, it's not handled yet (the text is not split in two).

Hello,

You can draw a diagonal line (just like in Excel, by the way), but it doesn't actually split the cell.

Hi,

In Excel as well as in Word 2003, using the drawing toolbar, Shapes/Basic Shapes, select the triangle and draw it in the cell, copy/paste this triangle and rotate it to make the upside-down triangle. Right-click on each triangle/Add Text, then select both triangles (click on one triangle, then hold Shift and click on the second) Right-click/Group/Group
Prior to that, you may need to use some tricks to bring them closer together.

In Excel, you can also size them with the cell. Right-click on the grouped shape/Format AutoShape/Properties tab/check Move and Size with cells.
All of this is a bit of tinkering; in 2007, the actions are slightly different.

Yes, it's possible

1) merge two cells (one below the other)

2) select the new cell (made up of the two merged cells)

3) in the Design menu, choose from the Borders command: "Diagonal Bottom Border" for example.
