Accessing the file C:/Windows/Temp

Hello, my C drive is full. I can't even print a Word document anymore. After browsing through some forums, I'm convinced that the Windows/Temp file is the issue. However, no matter how I change the owner of this object, I consistently get the message "an error occurred while applying security information to C:/Windows/Temp/-avast-" and then the same message without "avast" but with access denied. Thank you for your help.

Hello

This folder, temp, contains temporary files.
You should not delete it, but you can clear its contents.

You can also, in the disk properties, do: clean the disk.
That will free up space.

Thank you for your response. To clarify, I do not wish to delete this Temp folder but rather the files contained within it. This is where I encounter an access rights issue (I cannot access these files). And when I try to modify the permissions, I receive the message indicated above.

Some cannot be deleted if they are in use.
Sort them by date, and delete starting with the oldest.
