Hello,
I've been scouring this forum and others, but I can't find a solution even though the problem seems to be recurring.
I would like to access the configuration of my Cisco router. I managed to do so a few days ago with the address 192.168.1.1, but today it no longer works (the page loads endlessly and stops by itself).
So:
- My ping responds
- DHCP is enabled
- I tried without the firewall but got no results.
My knowledge of computers is basic (I can barely understand the concepts of Ping and DHCP)
Thanks for your help
Best regards,
Nicolas

And concerning the ping of 192.168.1.1?
To restart it, unplug it and plug it back in, or if you have a model with a power button, use that ^^
To restore it to factory settings, either you read the manual, or most of the time, there's a "mode" button that you press and hold for a good thirty seconds, it will restart in factory mode; if you want to save this factory mode, you write the current config to flash memory with a "write memory."

I had the same problem as you, to fix it I opened the command prompt and typed ipconfig/all. On the default gateway line, there's an IP address that you copy into the browser and normally it should be fine.
I would like to know precisely if you can ping your 192.168.1.1
If so, and your browser seems to be loading a semblance of HTTP and HTML, there could be several reasons.
Either your browser has what I would call "ridiculous" security settings.
Or your Cisco router (or maybe Linksys?) has a problem with its built-in web server. Try restarting that network element.

forgive my ignorance in the field, but when I say that I have basic knowledge, I truly mean it.
If it's about my security settings, they haven't changed since I managed to access the configuration page.
And how do I go about resetting?

Ah yes, I also tried other IP addresses than 192.168.1.1 such as 192.168.1.2 or even 192.168.1.10 but without success.
hello!
try using https to see if it makes a difference.. of course, you will need to accept the certificates in the browser when prompted!
Otherwise, there is the possibility of using telnet since the ping works, and possibly ssh as well.
