French Subtitle Solved

Question

Bonjour à tous, possédant un film en V.O, je souhaiterais savoir s'il est possible d'y inclure des sous-titres français, et comment faire ? Merci.

Hello,

To do this, if it's a divx, you just need to get the subtitles (commonly referred to as > ST <). It's a separate file.

This file is one with the extension .srt
Normally, the subtitles available on the net are synchronized... especially those you find on the "team" site... because a site protects its image and provides quality!
You will need Time Adjuster if you want to sync the subtitles... but that's rare.

Otherwise, concretely:
You go to subtitle sites, or search in emule. You search for the movie name and download the .srt files... and those will be the ST.

When you have the ST corresponding to your movie, you absolutely MUST give them the same name!!! What I do is I press F2 on the video name, copy its name, press F2 again and CTRL+V... a quick and sure copy-paste! Only the extensions should differ.

So, you have an .avi file and another .srt file with the same name. Then, you burn it onto a CD as data, and if you have an updated standalone divx player... no problem!

This is a copy-paste from a site called frigorifix.com. I've kept the English and French sites, but the original post had sites with ST in Finnish, etc.

I'm a loyal fan of frigorifix.com From there, you can go to other sources.
Be careful, as divx is often illegal, the STs are often illegal too... so many sites require you to register. In some, you need to find the subtitle section... and in some cases, you only see the subtitle section if you're registered.

But it should be fine!

Hello.
I am a fan of the original version with subtitles
An original version + an SRT subtitle (Usually from the ATTILA WEBSITE)
A quick visual check on the sync (rarely a small adjustment with Time Adjuster Freeware)
You put these 2 files in the same folder and rename them identically
The title.avi
The subtitles.srt exactly.
You install POCKET DVIX ENCODER (freeware).
You put these 2 files in it and there you go-- You will have a file for Archos just right (A subtitled movie like they do on TV)

The best subtitle sites are seriesub (seriesub.com), forom (www.forom.com), or soustitre.110mb.com (http://soustitre.110mb.com). But for movies, you need to search through Google.
