The little house icon no longer appears.

Hello,
I have a basic Acer netbook and the little house icon that appears in the bottom left has disappeared. What is the procedure to make it reappear because without it I can no longer activate the internet function. Thank you for your simple answers, I'm really not good with these things.

    It depends a bit on whether you're using KDE or Gnome, but from the way you talk about it, it could be KDE. You right-click on the desktop, go to New, create a link to a URL. You enter the address /home/mando (if your login is mando). You can optionally change its icon in the process. Then you drag and drop it into your panel. You can then delete the icon you created on your desktop.

      In fact, the bar has also disappeared and right-clicking yields no results. Additionally, I have an unconfigured element appearing on the screen, a star in a rectangle that can be moved but not removed with a right click.
