Hello,
I bought a new computer with Windows 7 and I installed Command and Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars on it, but when I try to play, I receive this message:
Make sure that DirectX 9.0 or higher is installed. Check that your graphics card meets the minimum requirements and that you haven't disabled hardware acceleration in the Display Control Panel.
I tried reinstalling it and everything goes fine each time. I have DirectX 11 and I tried it on other computers with Windows 7 and the problem is the same.
Could you help me?

Hello, I solved my problem that is identical to yours
already in c: program files, or program files x86 for those who have Windows 7 64b
go to electronic arts, command and conquer 3
and right-click on cnc3 and properties, compatibility, check the compatibility box and choose xp sp3
then check the box at the bottom run as administrator
apply ok,
then restart the game's homepage to be able to click on update, because without doing this manipulation it gives me the famous message about direct x, by doing this I can perform the update, download the patches, it takes quite a while.

I had the same problem
Solution: Plug in the HD cable and download the latest patches from the game menu, and there you go, it's done.

Same for me, I bought an HP Pavilion dv7 and nothing works, it tells me to check the HD 4250 graphics card and DirectX 11!
Hello everyone, I have several questions to ask you. I've been playing C&C 3 Tiberium Wars for 4 months, and I did my last update two days ago.
1st how do we create our own custom map?
2nd I downloaded a pack of 6 maps and I received a WinRAR file, how can I install it?
Thanks in advance.

the simplest thing is for you to go to all the drivers (type tld on google)
then go to my drivers accept the module that will detect your hardware configuration
for your problem with damers there is nothing to be done. it's like back in the day with the counter problem on vista.

You need to download the patch by following this link
http://portal.commandandconquer.com/portal/site/tiberium/article/detail?contentId=60e2cf59763d0210VgnVCM100000100d2c0aRCRD
then install it without starting the game (it's a .exe file)
after that, the game works normally

Here is the solution to the C&C General resolution problem on Windows 7:
-Go to the folder C:\Users\ Your Username \Documents\Command & Conquer Generals Data
- Open the options.ini file and copy the following in place of the existing text:
AntiAliasing = 2
BuildingOcclusion = yes
CampaignDifficulty = 0
DrawScrollAnchor = yes
DynamicLOD = no
ExtraAnimations = yes
GameSpyIPAddress = 0.0.0.0
Gamma = 50
HeatEffects = yes
IPAddress = 0.0.0.0
IdealStaticGameLOD = Low
LanguageFilter = false
MaxParticleCount = 5000
MoveScrollAnchor =
MusicVolume = 50
Resolution = 1440 900
Retaliation = yes
SFX3DVolume = 72
SFXVolume = 64
ScrollFactor = 145
SendDelay = no
ShowSof****erEdge = yes
ShowTrees = yes
StaticGameLOD = Custom
TextureReduction = 0
UseAlternateMouse = yes
UseCloudMap = yes
UseDoubleClickAttackMove = no
UseLightMap = yes
UseShadowDecals = yes
UseShadowVolumes = yes
VoiceVolume = 78
- Adjust the resolution according to your setup
- Right-click on the game launch file and go to properties
- There modify the compatibility option to Windows XP SP3 and check "Run this program as an administrator".
There you go!!!

Hi
On the game's CD/DVD, you should have what you need to install DirectX 9, go ahead and do it.
Please keep us updated.

I have a desktop computer
purchased at Boulanger
NVIDIA GeForce GT 220 graphics card
I'm going to try to download the DirectX you sent me (even though logically I already have them) but I don't know what needs to be extracted.

Hello
I have a desktop computer
purchased from Boulanger
NVIDIA GeForce GT 220 graphics card <= is it a so-called "custom-built" PC or a brand name?
Is the driver for your NVIDIA card properly installed? You can find it on the NVIDIA website and update it anyway.
If you look at the system properties, what does the Windows performance index say?

The performance index alone gives you an idea; if it weren’t installed, you would have an index of 1.0 (determined by the lowest sub-index). If you have an index of 5.9, it means everything is installed.

Well, it's probably an incompatibility with Windows 7
because I tried it on another computer with Windows 7 and the same error occurred, same message
I also tried with another Command & Conquer CD and it's still the same...

No problem.
Install Command & Conquer normally.
Launch Command & Conquer and there, it crashes (that’s normal).
In the Documents folder, a Command & Conquer folder is created.
Open this folder and delete all files inside.
Then create a folder called "Maps" and a ".ini" file named Options. (These 2 files are created at the root).
In the Options.ini file, note: IdealStaticGameLOD = Low
StaticGameLOD = Low (copy and paste) then save the file.
In the Maps folder, (nothing)
On the Command & Conquer icon, right-click:
-choose "Compatibility" then check for "Windows XP Sp3"
-At the bottom, check Run as administrator
-Do the same in the "Change settings for all users" tab. THEN Apply OK.
Normally, Command & Conquer launches under Windows 7.
You just have to reconfigure the graphic options as you wish through the game.
(If for Generals and Hour H, create the folder in both)
Have fun playing everyone.
