Hello,
I want to subscribe to a plan with SFR, and I was planning to take the ILLIMYTHICS 3G+ plan. However, in the store, the seller mentioned that with the phone I wanted (specifically the Samsung Galaxy), I would need to activate the Internet option and therefore have an additional charge in my subscription, and that it would be better to take the ILLIMYTHICS 3G+ Full Internet plan. I tried to understand the difference between these two plans, but it's quite unclear. Could someone please clarify this question for me? Is it really necessary for me to subscribe to the ILLIMYTHICS 3G+ Full Internet with the Galaxy?
Thank you in advance.

What is the difference between WAP, web, and Full Internet?
WAP and web are access points (APN) used to connect to SFR's 3G/3G+ Internet network.
In this regard, they can be compared to "entry points" to the third generation mobile network that allows for high-speed connections on your mobile.
Most of the mobile phones sold in the SFR 3G/3G+ package are pre-configured to connect to SFR's high-speed mobile network.
WAP sites, on the other hand, are adapted internet sites designed to be viewed on a mobile phone.
Regardless of the access point used (WAP or web APN), SFR's 3G or 3G+ network allows you, thanks to high-speed mobile, to enjoy increased usage comfort and access to various multimedia services at your disposal.
The access points wapsfr or websfr
These access points (APN) wapsfr or websfr allow you from your mobile:
- to browse websites
- to send and receive emails via webmail
- to customize your mobile (adding ringtones and/or animated logos)
- to access multimedia services
Etc.
These 2 access points are most often used for unlimited surfing plans such as Pass Surf, Pass Surf 2.0, or Illimythics and pro plans. You must use one of these access points depending on your subscription plan in order to stay within the pricing included in your package.
Be careful, if your mobile is not correctly configured according to your plan type, browsing the Internet will be charged as out-of-plan usage.
Web phones and the access point sl2sfr
New mobile phones that allow you to download applications from marketplaces (iPhone, Windows phone, BlackBerry, Android OS phones, etc.) are commonly referred to as web phones and must be configured to connect via the APN sl2sfr.
This access point is available as long as you have a Full Internet plan or option.
If you do not have the appropriate plan or option, you will not be able, for example, to access the Apple Store from your iPhone or the Android Market from your device running Android OS.

The ILLIMYTHICS 3G+ Full Internet plans are true unlimited plans,
some options are more expensive than with the old plans (for example: unlimited to all operators evenings and weekends goes from €10 to €12)
this option is no longer available for plans under 3 hours (it was possible with the old ones)
For the Illimitics 1 or 2h, new options appear, like unlimited to all operators evenings and weekends 18h/0h at €10 (I believe)
The out-of-bundle minute goes from €0.36 to €0.38!
A history of the plans (not all options are mentioned):
With the ILLIMYTHICS 3G+ 1st and 2nd generation, there was no sending/receiving emails with attachments using the integrated manager (for example), the standard iPhone was therefore useless for this.
Then came the 3rd generation All-inclusive EXCEPT mms! and the internet was still in wap (GPRS/UMTS/CSD), not in web!
This is when SFR offered to unlock the iPhone 3G+ more than ORANGE, to be used at SFR.
SFR then activated the orian 63i or sl2sfr option which made them operational including sending/receiving emails with the Apple manager integrated into the iPhone.
So the new Full Internet plans are no longer restricted, they allow internet connection all the time,
which is mandatory for a new generation phone, like the smartphones running with Android
those on Windows Mobile 6.5 (or 6.1) for sending/receiving emails with attachments using the integrated manager on different operating systems of these phones.
I think, but it needs to be verified, that the phone can now be used as a modem (3G+ internet key) since since I subscribed to the ILLIMYTHICS 3G+ Full Internet (on 19/11/2009) a new connection mode called Mobile Internet is available, and I verified it connects well to the internet.

For me, in the villages where I am on weekends, I don't care about SFR wifi :p
But the question is, what's the difference between 3G+ internet and just internet...
Personally, I found myself interning in a village two years ago, and I was quite happy to have Neuf WiFi (Neuf at the time). After checking, the DSLAM was less than 800m away...
Furthermore, the "access points" used to connect via 3G (wapsfr vs websfr or their equivalents) are not the same. With websfr, it seems that the speeds are higher, but that remains to be proven; however, since operators do everything to never provide technical details about their solutions, it's impossible to prove.
For my part, with wapsfr, I have already observed download speeds equivalent to ADSL 512k/1M, but latency is at least as important as throughput for surfing, so you can have a good download speed and a rather average webpage loading time.
Finally, the use of the AP websfr suggests that you can use your phone as a modem without limitations. I do it with wapsfr, but it's outside the contract, requires a minimum of skills, and is increasingly limited. While wapsfr restricts to "web" ports 80/443 (=> No FTP downloads whereas most sites use this protocol rather than HTTP), websfr allows all types of traffic, similar to an ADSL connection.

Hello, I am a SFR salesperson as well, and I wanted to respond to Jonathan's remarks (supposedly a SFR salesperson). Full internet is suitable for certain smartphones (iPhone, Galaxy, Omnia, N97, etc.). In short, for a smartphone.
These phones are said to be "always on," meaning they are always connected to the internet... They use full internet via websfr or sl2sfr, not mobile internet via wapsfr. Even by changing the connection protocol to sl2sfr or websfr instead of wapsfr, some apps will still incur extra charges. I don’t know where Jonathan works, but he is not giving good advice. So Jonathan, the only thing left for you to do is to request training at SFR, especially the "Communicating Solutions" training; it could be very useful for you because seeing the nonsense you’re posting is worrying...!!!!! So avoid claiming to be a SFR salesperson...!!!! Indeed, if you do not adapt full internet for this category of phone, you will end up with extra charges... Proof is in the pudding based on complaints from customers who were poorly advised by salespeople who don’t understand anything. Have a good evening. Tony

Good evening everyone
I want to get an iPhone 3GS, I need to get full internet to be at ease if I understood correctly
but there's one thing I don't get how iPhone users manage if they don't have full internet since it just came out!!
I feel like they're just trying to charge us more!!!
Thanks for your answers

Hi Tony, personally I have an iPhone 3GS with an Illimythics 3G+ for several months now and by configuring the network to wapsfr I do everything with my iPhone, I've never had any out-of-plan charges. The only thing we can't do is send and receive emails. Tony, could your client have traveled abroad with their iPhone? lol
Hi Jonathan, no, my client didn't go abroad with his phone. I have an iPhone myself and did what you did at first, but there are many apps that don’t go through wapsfr. Call the distribution hotline and they will confirm what I'm telling you. In any case, you do as you like, you'll have a nice surprise in the end... Have a good evening.
Thank you all for your explanations, but:
here's what we find online:
The advantage of SFR is that they throttle the ports. So anything not included in your plan will not be accessible, thus there's no risk of exceeding your plan (this concerns data only).
Additionally, it is possible to request to switch to the sp2sfr unlock:
However, since November 5, 2008, I believe, Illimythics customers can request to access a new setting, "sl2sfr," comparable to "wapsfr," but which opens access to email retrieval directly in the Mail application, like on an Orange iPhone. To do this, you must absolutely contact customer service.
The sp2sfr is not WebSFR, which opens all the ports. But it's sufficient for Push Mail.
It's a question
In summary, if we ask customer service to unlock access to sp2sfr, we get Push Mail and unlimited internet.
However, you must be careful if certain applications use WebSFR. But it is easy to ask SFR to block WebSFR, so no overage is possible.
A link:
http://www.sfr.fr/iphone-3g/tarifs/forfaits-option/comparatif/
To summarize, I take or I have an Illimythics. I can configure the iPhone in WAPSFR, have WebSFR blocked (if it's not done by default). It is impossible for me to incur overage. However, I do not have Push Mail. See the link above. Just need to reconfigure AFTER syncing iTunes;
So the SFR seller who criticizes the other SFR seller doesn't know everything despite his training. It's normal; they don't tell you everything, the trainers.
Then if we want Push Mail, we can try this:
http://www.actualitemobile.com/forum/index.php?action=printpage;topic=7790.0
And we don't pay for full internet.

For the email push, does it still really work for sp2sfr now???
I have one or two questions to add...
I have an unlocked N97mini that is not configured... With an Illymitics 3G+ -26 years 1h (not full internet).
I have loaded the settings via sfr.fr.... So I am on wapsfr...
However, the Vodafone portal does not display because, according to customer service, it is not yet compatible (and may never be..)
I would like to know if I can enter any address in my address bar while avoiding out of bundle charges? If not, will there be a message indicating that it is out of bundle?
In addition, how can I get Messenger without going over my bundle? Because also, Messenger by SFR is not compatible with my phone either... Even though SFR also sells this phone!!!!

You must not confuse access via wapsfr (wapsfr settings: for Nokia, this should be in the connection settings where the access point name should be Wapsfr) and the Vodafone portal.
The Vodafone portal is a web app; it is completely unnecessary to go through this portal to launch Google, for example. And you won't incur additional charges because you are using the wapsfr access point, which only allows HTTP traffic on port 80. This is the case for all websites.
Therefore, Messenger cannot work through this access point (except for the web Messenger app that you can access via the address http:/min.live.com), but it does not have the same ergonomics.
If you request the opening of WEBSFR, all traffic will be charged to you via this access point. However, you will have all ports open. You can, for example, do FTP transfers. But in that case, the bill can rise quickly.
I haven't tried the sp2sfr point yet; I only reported in my previous message what I observed in the other forums.
But I will call SFR tomorrow if I have time.
Best regards.

Hello
Here's my feedback with an HTC DIAMOND (WM) and Illimythic SFR plan WITHOUT Full internet.
1/ Definitely avoid the SFR web service which is very expensive. Beware of SFR salespeople, who often either don't know or are looking out for their own interests (or SFR's). The customer service is useless and only the technical support is reliable!
2/ Change your settings to connect via SFR WAP. All my apps work (e.g., internet with the mini opera browser, mobile Facebook version, weather, etc...).
3/ For emails, "Google is your friend", so create a GMAIL address where I have consolidated all my other addresses (free - laposte.net and one from work). Then, in the Google account, set up the FREE exchange server (which replaces Mail2web that became paid). I retrieve ALL my emails perfectly... with attachments...without data limitations...and it's free. For your information, you can set the email retrieval frequency... I chose every 15 minutes...
4/ For MSN, very easy, just use the FREE software "PALRINGO" (available for download on Clubic for example) which combines several instant messaging services (AIM, MSN, FACEBOOK, etc...). For this software to work, just open an app on the internet; for my part, I open a Google page.
5/ I just got a Blackberry Curve 8520 + Illimythic WITHOUT full internet and WITHOUT the BB option, I am looking for how to remove websfr and reconfigure to wapsfr... if someone has the settings and a good tutorial, I'd appreciate it, it would save me time!... thanks in advance
6/ Google is your friend: Search the forums... for example: https://win-mobile.forumpro.fr/ which is a model of the kind!......

I called customer service a few days ago, and they assured me that the option for sl2sfr was paid...
I don't know about this sp2sfr, but if it's related, it's the full internet option! Basically, for email, Google + ActiveSync, it works very well! For internet, everything is available via wapsfr unlimited, and for the rest, as long as it goes through wapsfr, it's unlimited...

Youl's question is very good, and I feel that only miskin'la zouz has provided a correct answer; the others seem to have explained what they understood without having experienced it themselves.
SFR clearly does not answer the question. A friendly reseller recommended that I take the Illimythics 3G plan, implying that full internet didn't offer anything more. I followed his advice with a bit of apprehension nonetheless (because I use the full power of my iPhone 3G) until I recently received my second SFR bill with this plan (on the first bill, I was worried that SFR hadn't activated everything properly yet!).
The pleasant surprise is that all my internet accesses (from Safari AND from iPhone apps) are indeed listed as "included" in my detailed bill (92 accesses "Connection to the SFR portal" and "Connection to a third-party portal").
So I would be happy if someone could explain to me what I would get additionally with the Illimythics 3G Full Internet plan! Is it perhaps useful when you have an iPhone 3G+??? Does anyone else have concrete experience (no "I think" please) to share on this topic?

- Only Legriffon's response is valid and well-argued
- The salespeople don't know anything. They know nothing about TVs, they know nothing about computers, they know nothing about their plans... it's the same in all major retail except for a few exceptions. Even at Fnac, it drives me crazy what I can hear. We should be able to trust them, but they are not trained and are just focused on pushing anything onto you.
- The potential usefulness (since it's not clear) is using the phone as a modem (to access the internet from a laptop through the mobile) and access to SFR Wi-Fi hotspots (see SFR's website...). If you don't care, you don't pay, but if this is what you're looking for like me, you pay, because taking the option costs an additional €30/month on top of your basic plan.

Well no, no modem function for full internet, you have to pay the extra €30.
At this price, you connect via VPN from home and use your ADSL connection. There's a bit of bandwidth loss due to the VPN. You either need to set up a VPN server or buy a router that includes this function: whatever the price, it quickly pays for itself compared to the monthly cost of the option.

It may be a bit late to address this issue, but it could be useful for people like me.
I have a Blackberry 9500 Storm purchased from SFR with an Illimythics 3G plan. After using the phone, I realized that the Internet was not always available even though I was on a 3G network; I also noticed that the "Browser" and "Maps" icons were not available either.
So I subscribed to the Full Internet option afterwards, and since then I have Internet all the time, and much faster access to the "Browser" and "Maps" applications, as well as all the applications that were previously inaccessible (Blackberry AppWorld, YouTube, Facebook (the apps, not the website)).
I would say that the Illimythics 3G plan provides access to Internet and Mail, but in a limited way, and does not allow you to fully enjoy the available options on your phone, unlike the Full Internet option.
I hope this will help you better choose the right plan for your needs.

It's a matter of services. If from one offer to another you go from a connection they call "wap" to "web" or "internet", you have the right to a wider range of services that they obviously charge you more for. For example, the email is not an email client but the forwarding of your emails through the SFR mailbox, which is quite different. I've had an Illimythics 3G for almost two years with an N95 8GB and I have no problems with any service except that I can't do SMTP/POP/IMAP to send/receive emails. In terms of performance, I have no limitations; I get 40KB/s with decent 3G coverage, which is more than sufficient for most applications!
Hello,
I am very interested in this topic because I just got the ILLIMYTHICS 3G+/3G+ Full Internet plan with the Nokia N97. Finally, I would just like to know if I can access all websites for free (without paying extra). What types of sites am I not allowed to connect to? And how can I find out if these sites are not included in my plan? Does the phone give a signal like "You are not allowed to access this site"?
Thank you very much.

Hello everyone,
I want to share my recent experience on the matter.
I have an Ilimitics 3G plan with 2 hours, first generation (2 years already), and I had activated, when the iPhone came out, the Orian 63i option that gives access to the "sl2sfr" gateway (APN). At that time, the purpose of this option was to be able to receive my emails on my Viewty (yes, I don't have an iPhone).
As I reached the end of my contract, I called customer service to renew my phone, aiming to get the HTC HD2 at the best price. After going through the cancellation department, I got a HD2 for €179, cool.
I made it clear to my representative that a previous salesperson had offered me a €5/month discount on my plan if I renewed for 24 months.
The person explained that she was willing to apply the discount but that my current plan was not suitable for my future mobile (HD2). She warned me that I might incur extra charges during my internet connections (email, MSN, ...), and therefore she offered me the Full Internet option at €11/month.
I told her that it surprised me because up until now I've used several "communicating" mobiles and I've never had extra charges.
Not possible according to her. I pointed out that normally, that was the purpose of the "iPhone" option.
And then, looking surprised, she told me she hadn't noticed that I had the option activated. She added that indeed in that case I shouldn't have extra charges.
Anyway, all this to confirm that the "Full Internet" option corresponds to the old "iPhone or Orian s63i" option, with Wi-Fi added. So "Full Internet" = "Full Scam at €11", to be reserved only for those wanting to receive their emails directly on their mobile, or to use certain specific applications.
Well, I'm going back to enjoying my HD2, with my Ilimitics plan of 2h+2h web, unlimited mail, sms, mms for €34!!!!!!!

Hello,
Thank you for your response. I have two more questions: For now, I can't listen to music or watch a movie online with my phone (N97), so I'd like to know where I can download software (e.g., the Windows Media Player) that allows these actions. And is it free or paid? And I've heard that I can also download music for free, but I don't know how to do that?
Thanks in advance!

Hello everyone
The free configuration of the iPhone with sl2sfr is no longer relevant (I'm referring to the activation of the customer service for the infamous orian s63i). I know this because I spent almost 2 hours on the phone with customer service, technical support, and the cancellation department trying to negotiate its activation in vain.
Indeed, the last time I activated this option for free was last January for my illymitic 3G+ plan; it was the first 3G+ plan two years ago; I had this plan with an HTC TyTN2 (not great), and after I got the iPhone a year ago, I activated orian s63i for free, but that was when SFR was not yet selling the iPhone and was afraid its customers would leave for elsewhere. Since the end of Orange's monopoly, SFR has shown its claws and its appetite has grown, thus forcing anyone wanting to fully enjoy their iPhone "subsidized or not" to pay for an iPhone option at 11 euros which includes SFR TV, SFR WiFi, and 2GB of data; frankly, these are options anyone would gladly do without given the price, so that marked the birth of orian s73i and the death of orian s63i.
At the end of my 2-year contract, I opened a new line identical to the old illymitic 3G+ for a duration of 12 months (I got tricked too many times like this!!!), but this time it was not possible to configure my iPhone with sl2sfr; supposedly full internet took over, and to benefit from the same services, I have to pay an additional 11 euros, which would bring me to nearly 60 euros for 2h + 2h, whereas before I was only paying 39 euros for my services. ISN'T THAT A SCAM HONESTLY?????
SO to all SFRMANIAS, RUNNNNNNN!!!!!!!!
And find yourself another operator "bring on Free!!!" I'm tired of being milked like a cow.
On my side, I stopped my old line, and to keep my number, we can no longer switch to SFR "another brilliant idea from SFR's commercial service"; however, I did port my number to the operator Simyo which, by the way, is not expensive and not binding. And for my new line, I tried to retract because I called the cancellation service within the 7 days following the opening, but once again I faced the retraction condition of only 24 hours when the line was opened in-store! Only within those 24 hours, I had no reason to retract since when you call customer service the day after the line is opened, your number is still not updated in their database; can you see the trap???? It’s a vicious circle.
In short, I’ll keep my new number for a year, and then I’m done with the fees; the process of canceling other SFR numbers and SFR ADSL from my relatives has already begun.

and the Virgin Paradise plan with full internet + emails + 5 unlimited numbers to any operator.
Has anyone tested it?
Is it possible to use it with the iPhone, or is the full internet only for other smartphones?
I don't understand what would be different between the iPhone and other smartphones?
But again, why choose SFR's full internet? An unlimited plan with configuration on wapsfr should work on the iPhone and on any other phone.

Completely agree, it's a scam. I'm skeptical about the story of the off-plan apps that don't use WapSfr.
Especially since, as mentioned, it can be blocked by SFR at worst.
A sales representative from SFR called me yesterday, and I managed to negotiate something interesting.
He's willing to offer me the iPhone 3GS 32GB for €100, reusing my current Illimytics 2h + 2h SMS MMS and unlimited Internet plan on my HTC.
Basically, I stay at €39.90 / month with a 24-month commitment with SFR, even though my current commitment isn't finished yet.
I have until Saturday to think about it; I hope he wasn't too drunk—fingers crossed until Saturday that he'll offer me the same deal.
Regarding the iPhone option and the iPhone plan, it's the same crazy scam.
I confirm that we don't need it to surf for free.
I tried it on a colleague's phone and it works perfectly; you just need to set the phone to wapsfr and it runs smoothly.
The only issue, as noted above, is that we can't retrieve emails, but I don't care; in exchange, I can send MMS for free.
I still need to confirm if he's going to take over my plan, yes if it's a new one.
In any case, Full Internet is also a load of crap; you only get access to SFR’s Wi-Fi hotspot and SFR TV.
By the way, you might as well connect to Free's access; it's also free and unlimited, as they love to say these days...
If you want advice, always go through Free's sales department for a plan renewal, never use their worthless red square points, and don't hesitate to negotiate while being well-informed beforehand.
Ask the burning questions, like what's the difference between the iPhone and Illimytics plans. Never respond with a simple Yes or No on the phone, but say “It seems to me” or “It could be,” or something similar, as the conversations are recorded.
They will send you an offer by mail where you will be free to accept or not (it's mandatory, it's the law).
I'll see about adding a condition, like an option by email; we'll see if it goes through or not.
In any case, SFR doesn't know how to value customer loyalty; everything has to be done through negotiation.
Sad reality, but at the same time, they can't make offers for everyone...

Basically, you can only use the market place or the store when connected to Wi-Fi at home without this full internet option.
Just pay attention to the connection settings to connect via web or wap if you don't have the option.
It's a scam as always: here's what it says on the SFR website.
Wap and web are access points (APN) used to access SFR's 3G/3G+ Internet network.
In this regard, we can compare them to "entry gates" to the third-generation mobile network that allows high-speed connections on your mobile.
Most mobiles sold in SFR 3G/3G+ packages are pre-configured to connect to SFR's high-speed mobile network.
Wap sites, for their part, are Internet sites adapted to be viewed from a mobile phone.
Regardless of the access point used (wap or web APN), SFR's 3G or 3G+ network provides you with increased comfort of use thanks to mobile high-speed access, as well as access to various multimedia services made available to you.
The access points wapsfr or websfr
These access points (APN) wapsfr or websfr allow you from your mobile:
- to browse Internet sites
- to send and receive emails via webmail
- to customize your mobile (adding ringtones and/or animated logos)
- to access multimedia services
Etc.
These 2 access points are most often used for unlimited browsing plans such as the Pass Surf, Pass Surf 2.0 or Illimythics and pro plans. You must use one of these access points according to your subscription plan to remain within the pricing included in your package.
Warning, if your mobile is not correctly configured according to your type of plan, internet browsing will be billed outside of your package.
Web phones and the access point sl2sfr
New mobile phones that allow downloading applications from market places (iPhone, Windows phone, BlackBerry, phones running Android OS, etc.) are commonly referred to as web phones and must be configured to connect via the APN sl2sfr.
This access point is available as long as you have a package or a Full Internet Option.
If you do not have the appropriate package or option, you will not be able to access the Apple Store from your iPhone or the Android Market from your mobile running Android OS.
Just pay attention to the connection settings to connect via web or wap if you don't have the option.

Wrong, with wapsfr without the FULL option it works too and without extra charges!!!!
"This access point is available ...."
Some bullshit with doublespeak, luckily it's available, and it is also available with wapsfr
I love this kind of discourse that describes the merits of an option just to sell it, if you look closely nothing says that with wapsfr you can incur extra charges (see below)
"Warning, if your mobile is not correctly configured according to your type of plan, surfing the Internet will be charged as extra."
Well yes, if the iPhone for example is configured in websfr it's extra charges, it needs to be configured in wapsfr and that's it
I would only have one piece of advice for you, get an SFR SIM card in 3G+ Illimythics and test it on an iPhone, configuring it in wapsfr and you will see for yourself.
I have an HTC Magic (Android) and I just conducted the test.
I have a 3G+ Full internet subscription and if I go through the APN wapsfr, I can access the Android Market but I cannot download apps; the download does not start.
If I switch back to the APN sl2sfr, the download begins.
The APN wapsfr also does not allow push mail; if you want to see your last emails, you have to synchronize manually. The arrival of new emails does not happen automatically.
So indeed, for those who do not use the Android Market or Apple Store and who do not need their emails to arrive instantly, there is no point in subscribing to the Full internet option.
I myself used my phone for a few days with the APN wapsfr before my Full internet option was set up and I did not incur any extra charges.
I hope I have provided some clarity in the debate.
Cf:
I quote: "Is it normal that I can't download via the market? Because on my iPhone, I can do everything with my plan, even check my emails with the Mbox hotmail app. So I don't get this glaring difference. On iPhone I can even watch TV via TF1 player, MTV or France 24."
Upon rereading the general sales conditions, I noticed that there is a limit of 10MB per download on the App Store
Knowing that you can still download apps on the PC, does the iPhone plan justify its cost? I'm not so sure...
Pffff what a bunch of scammers, I swear...
Regarding the MarketPlace, it seems we can now, but be careful, extra charges are possible, to be checked ;) Prefer WiFi connection for downloading apps.
As for me, I'm probably going to keep my 3G+ plan at €39 for 2h + 2h and maybe get the HTC Desire as a renewal by calling SFR once again... we'll see...
