Block the AUTO & OK buttons pressed with a toothpick, I did that, no more problems?

Go to the Philips website to search for the driver for the monitor in question, then download it and extract it.

Hello,

Try to hold down the menu button on the monitor for a little while (a little over 15 seconds), mine is on the left side.
You should be able to regain control of the menu that will appear on the screen, and you can then navigate through it like before.

I was stuck for months before finding the solution.
Cheers

Hello,

If by any chance your problem is still ongoing or for others facing this failure.

The issue comes from a defect or wear of the façade push buttons.
( of this type: http://cdn3.composant-electronique-pas-cher.com/292-large_default/-mini-interrupteur-a-bouton-poussoir-6x6x5mm-4-pin-dip.jpg )

You just need to buy the corresponding push buttons. Available at any electronic component stores. They are around €0.30 each.

Then you remove the cover of your screen.
( these videos may help you disassemble without breaking:

Then all you have to do is desolder and resolder with the new push buttons.

This requires a bit of repair time, a few euros but your screen will work again and it gives a second life to the gear!

Happy repairing.

M.

Yes, every 10 seconds (I counted) I get the OSD MAIN CONTROLS LOCK (then UNLOCK) message appearing. It's clearly a HARDWARE issue with my PHILIPS 190S screen. Indeed, if I hold down the button labeled "AUTO," the message doesn't appear anymore. I counted for over a minute. There may also be a software solution, but I haven't found one yet.

For my part, I dismantled the plastic frame at the front of my Philips 190S monitor. This gave me access to the printed circuit board (beige in color at the bottom) on which the various push buttons are soldered. I unsoldered them one by one, starting with the OK button (on the printed circuit board, it is marked OSD - for your information, in English On Screen Display). After removing each button, I reconnected the printed circuit board and restarted the screen. The results are as follows:
- OSD (OK or Menu) = still the same problem
- AUTO = still the same problem
- DOWN (down arrow) = still the same problem
- UP (up arrow) = the problem has disappeared
I assume it was the UP button that was faulty and causing the problem. I didn't bother to buy new push buttons as suggested by MALOU above because I never use the screen adjustments. I also haven't resoldered the removed push buttons.
I read on other forums that some completely remove the printed circuit board but, in my case, if I do that, I will no longer have a power button. For now, everything is working properly.
I have searched on (very) many forums, even in English, and it is clear that Philips monitors often encounter this problem after 2-3 years. European quality is no longer what it used to be. Or is it planned obsolescence???
I hope this can help you.

Good evening marsu, after several attempts on the OSD I managed to solve the problem with the Mick giver simply by wedging a pin on the menu button because I noticed that when pressed the message disappeared and reappeared. According to my knowledge, my screen was screwed (try it, this is not a joke, for me it works). Good luck babe.

To all those who have the problem, I opened the screen and unsoldered the button, and it works perfectly, the button marked OSD.

Hello. I apparently solved the OSD MAIN CONTROLS message issue after unplugging the screen. I unclipped the front bezel (turned the screen upside down and with a small screwdriver pressed on the two tabs on each side). I disconnected the connector that links the circuit board of the front buttons. They are no longer operational. The only downside is that you have to unplug the screen if you don't want to leave it in standby.
