Hello,
I received a call in my absence from a strange unknown number: 00390173234203.
Can anyone tell me where this call might have come from? I suspect it is a scam.
Thank you in advance

Hello, yes I just spoke to the same person, her name is Clara, and we were on the phone for 40 minutes discussing quality products. The basket costs 89 euros, and at the same time I was talking to her on my mobile, my landline was ringing with the same number. I told her, and she replied, "Well, Italy is in the spotlight today."

I received a phone call from Italy. The telemarketer was as talkative as a true Italian, and this went on for many minutes; her name is Clara. I accepted their offer for a discovery basket at €80.69... and we received it about ten days later with a bank transfer included to be paid within five days (the possibility to pay by card is also available) to a Belgian account, although it must certainly also be possible in France. The products, except for the coffee, all have the organic label and the prices correspond to those found on the website https://www.san-lorenzo.com/notre-produits. The only difference is that the olive oil in the package was just over one euro cheaper. The products we have tasted so far (pasta ... al dente, cocoa biscuits appreciated by the family except for me who found them a bit too cinnamon, and excellent coffee) did not disappoint us at all. The prices are in line with high-quality organic products. There’s my experience regarding these phone calls: it's not a scam, but a presentation of products hoping that the customer will become loyal on their site.

Hello,
These phone calls come from a robot; if you answer, the robot remembers the number called, which is yours, and records the time of the response.
The numbers of calls that received a response are sold to telemarketing companies with the maximum chance of reaching you at the indicated time.
So never answer unknown or withheld numbers. -

When the person on the other end of the line tells you they have the wrong number
and asks you who they are talking to,
and you don't give them the information
and they respond with "It's not every day you get a call from Italy"
It may not be a scam, but for me, they are salespeople who should consider changing careers.

Hello!
I have the same problem, although the number isn’t exactly the same, it also seems to be coming from Italy (given the area code). They call me about once a day at different times of the day or night, as if they are trying to find the best moment for me to answer. On top of that, they overwhelm me with short and impersonal texts like 'hi', 'how are you?' or even 'r.p.d. plz'. This happened to me a few months ago with an Algerian number (this time only calls)
I would like to know what I risk in this scam. How does it actually work? And how do Italian scammers get hold of a Belgian mobile number? -

Hello,
I just got a call from 00390917682. It rings twice and when I answer, they have already hung up. This makes it the third time this week. I tried calling back but a message tells me that the number is unavailable or unassigned.
If you have any information, thank you....
See you soon.

I just received it today too: 4x!
One possibility is that at the moment you pick up, the communication is loaded in favor of the caller. No need to talk, you answer the call and they collect a few euros or francs or whatever in their piggy bank!
It's definitely a scam anyway! So just ignore these calls or block them. -

Same for me, I was called 10 times in the morning...
It was 0039011395222. No one answers, just a beep. I hope it's not a scam. -
The code 0039 is for Italy, so either someone is trying to contact you from there or it was a mistake. Italy is among the very few countries that still include the zero in international calls, whereas normally it should be removed.

Hello, I also received a 00390173234204. This is the first time I've answered. No response on the other end (background noise from a child), and they hang up.
I live in Switzerland and I have also blocked withheld numbers... ? -
Hello,
Yes, it seems that it is. I stopped answering and I knock on wood, it has stopped. Hopefully it lasts.
Take care.

Same thing, for weeks (months?), some days up to ten times or more... this thing is so annoying...

c's not a scam
it's an application on Facebook that allows you to call for free "SonePhone"
it could be your friends trying to call you -
Hello,
The same thing happened to me. Throughout November 2010, I received a call every day from 00390109169 (the numbers change towards the end each time). The cablecom operator can't block incoming calls, so I bought a phone that has call blocking functionality and that did the trick. I've had peace since then. Happy New Year to everyone. -

Sure, me too. It looks a lot like yours: 00390173234100. I already have about ten missed calls. Strange! I don’t know who it could be either.
