Question

Good evening
I have a page that opened on the desktop titled "Active Desktop Recovery" with a page listing potential reasons why Microsoft blocked Active Desktop. The reason that concerns me is "Did you recently add an item to your Active Desktop? If so, it is."

I wanted to cut and paste from a file and my PC crashed, so to unblock it I did ctrl alt delete and it was at that moment that the item got added. How do I remove it from Active Desktop? Thank you for providing a solution

the procedure is as follows:
execute regedit
HKEY CURRENT USER -> Software -> Microsoft -> Internet Explorer -> Desktop -> SafeMODE -> components -> set the value of DeskHtmlVersion to 0
and then refresh the desktop

there you go ..

The element that is on Active Desktop is a video that was in Incoming. I wanted to move it by cutting and pasting, and it was at that moment that my PC crashed. So I pressed Ctrl Alt Delete, and that's when the Active Desktop page appeared on the desktop.

I think you need to uncheck the box in the window when you're under the web tab. I raised this issue two years ago and I don't remember exactly how to go to the tab. Follow what is written

Right-click on an empty area of the Desktop, then click on Properties.
Under the Desktop tab, click on Desktop Appearance.
Under the Web tab, check if the box is checked in the window.

I'm using Windows ME
I have a problem, my screen display is blurry only on the desktop.........but the icons are clear.

When I try to reactivate Active Desktop with right-click or anything else... it completely freezes my computer and I no longer have access to any mouse functions..........I have to reset and restart my computer

In short, I can't change the desktop image...

Can anyone help me?

To display Active Desktop on your desktop, right-click, then Properties, then Desktop tab, click on Advanced options, then on Web, and upload a page. Make an about:home in Internet Explorer settings.

I also have the same problem on my laptop (Windows XP - 0.99 GB of RAM): on the desktop, an active desktop recovery page appeared when I opened my computer. Hello  To start, I have exactly this message that appears when my computer crashes by itself. file:///C:/Documents%20and%20Settings/Owner/Application%20Data/Microsoft/Internet%20Explorer/Desktop.htt  Sometimes my screen has no icons and sometimes I get the active desktop recovery message. When I try to recover it, the message above appears also when I go on MSN by changing the location. I'm not sure if it's related.  For now, I'm just settling for resetting the wallpaper, but having my computer shut down at random times throughout the day is not very pleasant. I've followed the proposed method, but when I right-click on the desktop, I don't see anything related to AD. Maybe the solution given is not the same for my problem. In any case, thank you for helping me.  P.S. The text message is not very pleasant to read, and there are about 3/4 on 2 pages, so please make an effort.

Recovery  Upload your favorite photo, then right-click on the photo and finally click on "Set as desktop wallpaper"! The desktop page that was white and had a recovery option (which does not work...) has now disappeared in favor of the photo.

Hello, you just have to do the following on the desktop: right-click...properties...desktop...personalization...web...uncheck "homepage"...ok...apply  generally, it works, if not there might be a lot of malware (use CCleaner...and a thorough scan with the antivirus)  bye!!!
