Hello,
I wanted to install Panda Antivirus Platinum on my computer because Avast had expired.
I would like to specify that this is the full software that I have duly purchased.
So I installed it, made the initial settings (signed up online, did the first updates,...)
Then I realized that the protection against unknown threats is not taken into account. An 'error' appears in place of the word 'activated'!!
The explanation then tells me to restart my system and if the problem persists, to reinstall Panda.
That's what I did because after several restarts, nothing changed. When I tried to reinstall, Panda told me that I first needed to uninstall the previous version of Panda present on my hard drive.
I then went into add/remove programs and attempted to remove Panda. However, when I launched the uninstallation program, several error messages appeared, telling me that 2 required dll files were missing. Nevertheless, the uninstallation continued and then Windows Installer told me it was successful.
However, Panda does not disappear from the list of programs and when I tried to reinstall Panda, it always told me that Panda needed to be uninstalled first. This is something I am unable to do.
Can you please tell me how to resolve my problem: that is, uninstall Panda so that I can reinstall it afterwards to ensure it takes charge of the protection against unknown threats??
Thank you in advance
Kermadec
ps: I have Windows XP Pro.

Good evening Kermadec,
Here is the procedure for completely uninstalling Panda (procedure that Panda Software France Support sent me by email).
I recommend printing it out before applying it, to ensure you don't miss anything in the process:
Dear Sir/Madam,
In order to install your new antivirus, I advise you to follow the steps below:
2. Restart your computer in safe mode.
2.1. Click on "Start", then "Shut Down", then "Restart".
2.2. When the computer restarts, just before the first Windows loading screen, press the F8 key on your keyboard.
2.3. A menu appears, select "Start in safe mode", do not select "Start in safe mode with networking".
3. Cleaning the registry. Note: this step is delicate. Please follow our procedure carefully.
3.1. Click on the "Start" button on the Windows taskbar. A menu opens.
3.2. In the menu, click "Run". A window opens.
3.3. In the input field, type: "regedit" then click the "OK" button. A new window, very similar to Windows Explorer, opens. At the top of this window, there is a menu (Registry / Edit / View / Favorites / ?).
3.4. In this menu, click "Edit". A menu opens.
3.5. Click "Find"
3.6. Ensure that all checkboxes for Keys, Values, Data are checked. If they are not, click the box to check it.
3.7. Ensure that the "Match whole string only" checkbox is unchecked. If it is checked, click the checkbox to uncheck it.
3.8. In the input area next to "Find", type "XXXX" (XXXX being the old antivirus present).
3.9. Click "Next". The search runs (very quickly), the registry navigation window opens on a selected item. Read the contents of the selected key/registry.
3.10. Press the "Del" or "Delete" key on your keyboard. A confirmation window opens. Press the "Yes" button.
3.11. Press the F3 key on your keyboard to go to the next occurrence of your search result.
3.12. Delete the found item as before and move on to the next occurrence until the end of the registry. A message will inform you when you have reached the end of the registry.
3.13. Regarding the keys "Devicedesc", these cannot be deleted. To delete them, proceed as follows:
3.13.1. Select the folder on the left starting with "LEGACY_", a small "-" is placed to the left of it.
3.13.2. Right-click on this folder, a menu opens, and click on "Permissions" in this menu. A new window opens.
3.13.3. In this new window, select "Everyone" and check the Full Control / Allow box. Click "Apply" then "OK".
3.13.4. Delete the folder you right-clicked on.
3.13.5. Press the F3 key on your keyboard to restart the search.
3.13. Close the registry editor.
3.14. Go to Start then Search and perform a search throughout your computer for XXXX (XXXX being replaced by the name of the old antivirus present) and delete any folder referencing it. Empty the recycle bin
3.14. Restart your computer in normal mode.
I believe this procedure should resolve your problem.
If that is not the case, please do not hesitate to contact us again, specifying your exact issue.
Thank you for keeping this message for the continuation of our correspondence.
We remain at your complete disposal for further information.

start>programs>Panda>uninstall.exe or uninstall? Isn’t there one?
otherwise clean the registry with usual precautions (backup)
start/run: type: regedit/confirm ok/tab: edit/search.... try to delete the complete file (don't expand the occurrence of the Panda file and mess with it) ^_^

Merci.
save the key before deleting it so you can restore it in case of problems, make sure to check all Panda references (fields "Keys", "Values", or "Data")

Hi Collor,
So when I said I downloaded Moe's method, it actually involved downloading 3 files.
1, which served as a manual, and 2 others which were actually the pandas files I needed to uninstall Panda (DLL files)
So actually, to solve your problem, you need to go to the 8th post, download the 3 links from the message.
And then follow the installation process in the manual...
I can roughly translate the steps from the document....
1. you need to copy the 2 files from the message to your hard drive.
2. restart in safe mode
3. then you need to extract the 2 files into the indicated directory
4. after that, open the directory mentioned above and double-click on uninst.lsp, by doing this Panda will uninstall.
5. rename unregdll.ba_ to unregdll.bat
6. then run unregdll.bat and accept the incoming messages
7. open the Windows registry and delete the files with the following access path.
note: there may not be all the files, in that case, move on to the next...
8. restart your computer in normal mode
9. then in the Windows explorer, delete the following files...
10. delete the following files... by going directly to the relevant directories
Note: %windir% = windows
11. finally, delete the desktop shortcut and the icon in the taskbar if it's still there... Restart your computer one last time.
There you go, I hope this will help you with your problem.... If you have any further issues following the method, feel free to ask again.

Hello
I have a very serious problem. I downloaded the latest version of Panda Pro 2009 but I can't uninstall it and I can't use safe mode; I'm told there's an error and that there's a virus. On top of that, I can't use regedit; I'm told it's not possible because the administrator has disabled things like that. I'm open to any solutions, thank you.

At your service Color! I only help people thanks to advice that others have given me...
Ps: it’s really funny how you managed to uninstall Panda! lol shows that anything can happen...
Now, I have completely uninstalled Panda from my PC and I am using the new version of AVAST PERSONAL. It is free and in French for personal use. So I recommend it to non-English speakers.
See you and looking forward to it!

Good evening
Which Panda are we talking about? Is it the latest unsigned version including the antivirus + spyware etc...? If that's the case, then I fear you might experience the same misfortune I went through - This brand new software released on the market unsigned and accepted by Windows literally crashes the entire computer system. The Panda technical support is completely unable to handle the problem. Their solution is that something is wrong with your computer. I went through all the technical levels of Panda support only to end up formatting my hard drive (brand new computer put together by a professional technician) - your luck is that you can restart your system - for me, even in safe mode, it was impossible to uninstall it. In the end, I was refunded for the 3 licenses I had purchased. Today I am trying out different existing systems to find another one as efficient. It's a shame that the latest versions are so flawed.

I tried the method you told me about. It didn't work completely. Now, Panda is not working at all on my computer. But when I reinstall Panda, it always finds it and doesn't want to proceed with the installation.
On the other hand, when I search in the start menu to manually delete Panda, a file is preventing the files from being deleted. It is PAVLSP.DLL
When I try to remove Panda via the add/remove programs section, and I launch the uninstallation application, 2 errors prevent it from completing correctly. Error Uninst LSP: Error loading InstLSP.dll
and Fatal: Error Loading Uninstal.dll in LanzarDesinstalacion
(it's really written like that^^)
So, if you have any solutions to solve my problem, I'm open to suggestions.

Hello
I have the same problem as kermadec, I had an issue with the Panda antivirus that told me to uninstall and reinstall it, but during the uninstallation of the antivirus my PC crashed and the uninstallation could not be completed.
I restarted the PC and tried again to uninstall it, but was unable to do so. When I go to the control panel, add or remove programs and click on remove Panda, nothing happens.
I also tried system restore to the date before I installed Panda, but when the PC restarted I got a message saying that it was impossible to restore, choose another date.
I tried another date, and as soon as my PC restarted I had a window with a message... PAVLSP.DLL could not be .... I clicked several times on ok, it keeps coming back, and when I try to delete it says impossible to delete. So I canceled the restore.
I then searched online and found an article about how it works, and there, I tried the method from Anne.
I followed all the steps and when I got to 3.9 it opens in Photoshop.
After that, I looked to the left, searched for Panda, selected it, and there it found something, a key, so I clicked delete and it said impossible to delete, I tried again, typed xxxx and nothing, I had nothing on the right side, so I restarted the PC and tried again several times, and still nothing.
I clicked on the link
http://www.dslreports.com/forum/remark,13090945
(the 8th post).
But I didn't understand anything, it's in English.
