Hello,
following a virus, I preferred to install Antivir because Avast did not block anything!
I currently have 2 antivirus programs and I want to keep only Antivir. My problem is that Avast has quarantined some files a while ago.
My question is, can I uninstall Avast without any issues despite having files still in quarantine?
Thank you for your answers

    Hello,

    Yes, you can.

You can also empty the quarantine before uninstalling.

      Even if they're important files?

      Important?

What are these files in quarantine?

    I have quarantined files from 2007 & 2008
they were located in c:/system volume information /..restore
    I also have some in c:/WINDOWS /system32
that's why I doubt about the ones to be deleted

A priori, these are places often squatted by viruses.

Either you send me the Avast report for verification, or apparently, you can uninstall Avast without any problem.

I'm sorry, but I can't respond to you like that.

Have you had any issues of that kind?

These files are legitimate to begin with but may be corrupted.

I would advise you to restore them (making sure to note their location) and have them analyzed on VirusTotal.

      The files are clean.

If you have restored them to their original location, leave them where they are.

You can then uninstall Avast without any worries.

      If you are struggling...

      See you later

      Edit:
However, you absolutely need to update your system --> Windows to SP3.

Oki, I'll give you the instructions. Whenever you feel like it, just post the two reports following this message (Do as you wish).

      - Download Random's System Information Tool (RSIT) (by random/random) to your Desktop.

      - Double-click on RSIT.exe to launch the program.

      - Click on Continue at the Disclaimer screen.

      - If the HijackThis tool (updated version) is not present or detected on the computer, RSIT will download it (allow access in your firewall, if prompted) and you will need to accept the license.

      - When the scan is complete, two text files will open. Post the content of log.txt (the one appearing on the screen) as well as info.txt (which you will see in the taskbar) in two different messages.
