Remove virus or quarantine it?

Hello,
I have a friend who has a PC with Avira Antivir (I have it too) and it found 2 viruses. I deleted them, but I'm wondering what is better? To quarantine or to delete? Thank you, it may seem like a silly question, but it's been torturing my mind for quite some time! Thanks in advance.

You can quarantine them until you ensure that it wasn't a false positive from the antivirus, which happens sometimes (false positives). If, after a few days, you find that everything is working correctly after quarantining them, you can delete them. However, false positives are rare.
I recommend scanning your machine with an online antivirus from time to time, for example, Kaspersky online (just type "kaspersky webscan" or something like that on Google, it's easy).
Be careful, to perform this scan, you must absolutely use Internet Explorer and agree to install an ActiveX.
After the scan (it can be quite long, depending on your setup and connection), switch back to Firefox if that's your usual browser (strongly recommended, see many topics on this site).
    See you later!

    Hi Boss,

Be careful, quarantine does not remove them, they are just set aside and can no longer act in the system
but they are still there, although harmless.
So, you can delete the viruses placed in quarantine but you cannot quarantine viruses that you have deleted, since they have been permanently erased.
Be careful not to accidentally restore viruses that are quarantined.

      Hi Jiminsk
So I think I'm just going to delete them, it'll be safer (which is what I've always done)

If you have quarantined them, there is no problem,
it is still possible to delete them afterwards.

        Hi,
You won't find "CrapFullUninstallerCustomEdition" because it doesn't exist.
If you think you're infected, start a new topic in the "virus/security" section of CCM.
        See you later.

CrapFullUninstallerCustomEdition really exists, but its distribution is illegal because the software allows the uninstallation of very powerful security software like Deep Freeze without knowing the password/how to disable it! It also enables simpler tasks like deleting undeletable files (viruses, etc.) and other locked files. There are several versions:

CrapUninstaller: Free Lite Version (Remove stubborn files)
CrapFullUninstaller: Pro Version @ $39.99 CAD (Allows the removal of certain security systems and all stubborn files)
CrapFullUninstallerCustomEdition: Platinum Version @ $129.99 (This version is the most powerful and includes tools to disable Deep Freeze and the most powerful security systems)

The versions listed above are still all in beta and still contain some bugs, and are therefore distributed only by our approved distributors, who take the strictest measures to maintain anonymity. When everything is ready, rest assured that you will be informed!

    Hello,
    HELP PLEASE!
I have Avast that detected a trojan, the problem is when the virus alert appears I can only "abandon the connection", there is no option to delete or quarantine, why???
So I abandoned the connection but I don't know what that does, I think I'm not safe but how can I do???
A quick response would help me as I have written on many forums and no one is answering!!
    Thank you all

      Hello,
As soon as you have lost the connection, I advise you to perform a full analysis of your PC using your antivirus. It is possible that it will detect nothing, but if a Trojan has still installed itself despite your disconnection, your antivirus should detect it. You then place it in quarantine or delete it.
