Hello,
I work in a primary school with a computer that acts as a server and 7 others connected to the internal network (plus one printer) via ethernet; the server "shares" 3 folders, "Tools", "Teacher Work" and "Student Work" (the last one is the only one visible with the user "student"). However, since this summer, every time I try to access the shared folders from a computer on the network, they appear in the explorer (with the mention "Disconnected network drive") but if I double-click on them, I get the message
"An error occurred while reconnecting X: (the folder) to \\Server\Tools (or Teacher Work, etc.)
Microsoft Windows Network: The network path was not found.
This connection was not restored."
The ethernet cables are in the right places (even though it's a complete mess, with computer 8 plugged into port number 2, etc. - I don't know who had the brilliant idea to plug everything in without following a logical order). The strangest thing is that when I thought I had found the issue (a cable plugged into the wrong port), it worked for 2 hours and then crashed again.
Help?
Thanks :o)
