Hello,
I have Gimp version 2.6 on Linux. I'm creating image files for invitation cards, but how do I convert these images to CMYK mode and 32-bit mode to prepare them for printing? I admit I've been desperately searching for an answer and a FAQ regarding GIMP. So far, I haven't found any answer. THANK YOU FOR YOUR HELP

Indeed, I recently noticed that the CMYK mode was not included.
But it should be noted that professional printers often offer to standardize the images we send them.
And this is the case for the CMYK mode. It's a paid service (between 4 and 10 euros)

The most important thing is to provide a 300 dpi file and to allow for margins.

Excuse me for intervening, but H2O, what you are saying is completely wrong. Most printers require that we provide them with CMYK files. For the simple and excellent reason that the conversion from RGB to CMYK is a destructive conversion (for colors) and printers prefer not to take risks and avoid unhappy clients. Some do it, but if you (or your client) are picky about the rendering of your colors, I advise you to avoid taking that option.
