Protéger un fichier .txt ou .doc

It's quite simple for this operation, you need WinRAR. You right-click on your document, then you click on "Add to archive..." You go to Advanced, click on "Set a password...", enter your code, confirm the operation, and there you go.

Indeed, you can protect different text files or even a folder. I know there are several software options, but I use TrueCrypt; it's a small program that allows you to encrypt your files and protect them with a password ;) here is the link and the explanations.

All compression software (Winzip, Winrar, 7-zip, etc.) has an option to put a password on an archive.

Example with Winrar installed: right-click on your file, click Add to archive, and in the Advanced tab, click on Password. After creating the file, double-clicking on it will open the dialogue box for the password request, and once the archive is open, double-click the file in the Winrar window. The file is temporarily decompressed, and you can use it normally.
