Hello
Blender is very comprehensive but complex; for a beginner, there's Anim8tor
There are many tutorials, including one in French on their site.
See you later, Taupo

Hi! I started with Blender by following a lot of tutorials and actually it's not that complicated. It's its "physics" that scares beginners, but you'll see, once you get used to it, you wouldn't change it for anything in the world!!!!
See you!
See you!
Okay, thank you all. I downloaded BLENDER, which seems very comprehensive to me, and I also downloaded a tutorial in French.
The problem now is that I am looking for a step-by-step guide or tutorial that covers the different aspects of Blender.
If someone can provide me with information, I would be very grateful. Thank you in advance.

So I know a great site where there are plenty of tutorials, including how to use Blender: https://openclassrooms.com/fr/
and all the tutorials are super easy to understand (the tutorials are on the top left, click on "and many more" and there you'll find all your happiness :D)
let me know if you found it @+

Hello
if you want to learn how to use Blender, go to the Site du Zéro, everything is explained there.

It does not exist in French...
You need to download it in English and then, with different options, it can be translated; check the written tutorials at www.tuto-blender.com
Also, as a piece of advice, I want to point out that even if you don’t know anything in English, don’t translate it, because the tutorials are exclusively in the English interface (but the voice and text are in French).
And it’s not a very good translation.
As for the Maya-3Ds/Blender debate, I completely agree with the pro Blender, and when the other person cites many other films, I will remind her that she herself said that all the big companies used these software, so that's normal...

Like Blender, but it's not the only one; There's also DAZ Studio, which can be quite good for practicing animation.
It's very good for beginners. You will find free content on the site.
Then for 2D animation, there is Animation Pro Studio if I remember correctly.
And for 3D, it seems that Rhino 3D is pretty good.
Personally, I use 3D Max 2009 for animating, but it's not easy for a self-taught beginner; it's not ideal.

Hello subsauvage
Hi miss.3.D.
Is it a war?
I'm starting with Blender, it's a really good software.
I don't know 3DSMAX yet. I've been closely following your conversation.
Miss.3.D, if you work at Ubisoft, why don't you share your knowledge with the younger ones in the field?
Personally, I dream of going to Ubisoft. Are you in France? Canada? Or elsewhere?
I think Blender is a great software when you don't want to invest in big budgets while still achieving very good quality. It’s true that 3DSMAX is more powerful, but it’s more for professionals.
Instead of fighting:
- Blender is the best
- No, it’s 3DSMAX
- No, you are wrong
- No, I am right...
Miss 3D, could you explain a bit about the job at Ubisoft?
Thank you
I hope I'm not bothering you too much.

As for the video game professions, most of the paths
followed by the "biggest" ones, so to speak, are here.
http://www.macarriereenjeux.com/
Ubisoft and Beenox (Activision => Guitar Hero...) have teamed up to hold
conferences in schools, to recruit as many people as possible,
because the video game market is growing more and more.
The demand for qualified personnel is increasing.. that's why
we invite people to study in this field to eventually hire them.
My job (Level Designer) involves making sure that the game's story flows
and that everything fits well together, for example, in Assassin's Creed,
everything from costumes to streets must have a medieval look, otherwise it's a failure.
I also have to take care of the actions... where this will take place.... again as an example;
in Assassin's Creed, the citizens to save may seem
randomly placed, but again, in each city they have been strategically placed.
We also need to ensure that the level of the "bots" matches the level
we are in, as it would be illogical for level 7 bots to be weaker than those of level 5.
For more information about tasks, skills, and studies:
http://www.macarriereenjeux.com/index.php?page=conception-fr#concept_niv
Personally, regarding my studies,
I completed a 3-year program in 3D Animation and Image Synthesis,
a DEC in Plastic and Media Arts (more focused on drawing and 3D modeling),
I took optional courses in history and art history, I also studied a bit of psychology, not to mention
too much philosophy!
P.S.: Traveling is the key to culture.
Any other questions??

Hi miss 3D
Are you really at Ubisoft Montreal?
You collaborated on the Assassin's Creed project !!! That's great
Actually, I’m in my first year of DM (draftsman-designer) applied arts in Marseille, and in June I have to do an internship.
I've always dreamed of going to Ubisoft Montreal, but I’m not well informed and thought the project was too ambitious.
But if you have any information, that changes everything!!!
I looked at your website, which is really interesting, and I found out the exact name of what I want to do: concept artist.
There’s one thing I didn’t understand, if you are a level designer, why do you use 3DSMAX?
Also, why do you say that traveling is the key to culture?
If that's the case, I have been to England, Italy, Tunisia, Egypt, and recently to the United States.
How many of you are at Ubisoft?
Are all sectors mixed?
Do you work with Jade Raymond?
And where did you take those courses (DEC ..)?
Thank you again for your advice.

^^
I use 3DS Max because I am primarily a 3D animator/modeler.
You don't walk into Ubisoft with a big title... Like in all jobs, you
start at the bottom of the ladder.
As for Jade, yes, I worked with her on Assassin's Creed 1 and I am still
working with her on the 2nd one.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nguvzh-Cq3Q
For DEC, (Diploma of College Studies) it is given in CEGEPs*.
Because in Quebec, between high school and university,
there is CEGEP, and for the Pre-University Programs (like arts
and media), you spend 2 years there, and for the technical programs, it's 3 years.
In short, there you go.
By the way, for internships at Ubisoft,
we only take last-year college (CEGEP) students OR university students.
I'm not quite sure about your current situation?
Are you at university? It's been too long since
I remembered the French system, sorry!
As for traveling, the important thing in this kind of job
is of course creativity. The more culture you have to draw inspiration from your own experiences,
the more interesting the creations will be. For Assassin's Creed, it is the medieval period that prevails,
therefore, it was necessary to research certain infrastructures
and the customs of people from that time...
It may seem simple at first glance, but perhaps a historian
will play the game and find a flaw in the history...
That's why it's important to include as much realism as possible.
Furthermore, you need to have a minimum proficiency (speaking and writing) in both French and English..
By proficiency, I mean not making spelling mistakes, and when you speak,
you should have a good vocabulary and know how to form well-structured sentences.
*CEGEP = Center for General and Professional Studies.
Have a good day.

Hello Miss 3D
Actually, when I say I'm in first year of DM, it means I'm only 16 and I'm drawing in a specialized school with the aim of getting a BT.
Is a level designer a higher position than a modeling animator? Why?
I suspect that video game giants won't take in young interns who haven't even graduated from high school.
But you never know.
You didn't tell me how many people work at Ubisoft.
Is your position very important?
To work with all these mixed sectors, you must be very organized and do real teamwork, right?
How are all these sections divided that group them together...?
According to some big rumors, I've read that the game will take place in Japan, but I'm not sure at all.
On most review sites, players complain that Assassin's Creed is too repetitive.
Has this feedback been taken into account?
I imagine it's strictly forbidden to reveal any information about the game. (hopeful)
Personally, I find the world of Assassin's Creed fascinating and very realistic.
When you say have a good day, it's night here (7 hour difference)
PS: sorry for the spelling mistakes.

Hello, I can help you. I know an animation site (2D, not 3D) called Pivot Stickfigure beta 2.5 or 3.0. Just type "download pivot beta 2.5 or 3.0" on Google.
I'm sorry, but we are talking about 3D.
And for Pivot StickFigure, I knew about it, but the thing is,
it's long because we have to do it frame by frame or for creating shapes, don’t even get me started!!
LOL You and your Windows Only software!! LOL!
You would quickly fill up my 120GB Windows partition (Okay, fine, 122.7GB)
OH YES!! I use a Mac!
MacBook Pro or iMac 24''
Depending on the location!
https://www.apple.com/fr/macbook-pro/
https://www.apple.com/fr/imac/
I’m not here to advertise or start a PC/MAC war,
I'm just showing you my preferences and my equipment!
There you go.
By the way, here's a little parody that I keep in my favorites (Windows) or my bookmarks (osx)!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qHO8l-Bd1O4 (in English!)
Yes, Windows runs on a Mac, but a PC cannot support OS X.
Sorry my little friends! ^^

IT EXISTS IN A TRIAL VERSION, SO FREE.
AND there is a student version for $200!!
So take the time to read before contradicting me.
and you say ''unless you want to be hired by a company that works
absolutely with 3ds max... Uh, the problem is that all the companies you mention,
whether it's Ubisoft, Eidos, Beenox (Activision), EA Games... etc., all work with this software
because it's the standard... unless you want to learn 3D the wrong way,
because after Blender, switching to 3Ds Max is not fun.
As a level designer at Ubisoft, THIS IS My Opinion,
But you have to go with 3Ds Max.
Do what you want with my advice, but I believe that when it comes from someone
in the 3D field, it might be worth considering...
Have a nice day everyone.

Sure, I admit I didn't express myself well...^^
Anyway, what I meant to say is that if you can name a lot of other movies, it’s only because professionals use 3Ds Max, and not because Blender is worse, that's the nuance.
Because indeed, when we look at Big Buck Bunny or Elephant Dream, we can see that it's at the same level as a normal Pixar film.
Anyway -_-'
See you!

Haha, but actually the difference will be the time spent on the software
to achieve the same result as with 3Ds Max in the end....
^^ I don’t want to be a downer, I’m just trying to explain that
As the title of the forum mentions, it's a software for beginners,
Those who get used to this software will become pros (with this software) but if
eventually they want to make a career in video games, animation films or in advertising, they will benefit from knowing 3Ds Max,
and not just a little because anyway they will need not
only to do a nice '' render'' but it shouldn't take too much time,
Imagine the guy who takes 50 hours instead of 25 hours to create
a very simple character, by very simple
I mean only the modeling and not the texture..
(for beginners, modeling is like playdough ^^ hehe)
It's a waste of money to pay someone when the job could be done
in half the time (and I’m not joking, a character takes from 20 to 30 hours,
Easily....
In short!

My "when will we say" is invalid...?
First, I don't like anonymous posters,
secondly, you have no arguments to prove the invalidity of my statements...
and thirdly, if Blender becomes fashionable... it will become paid...
If you know so much, you should normally understand
the concept of a usage license....

Bonjour, je suis un traducteur et je ne peux pas fournir de conseils sur les logiciels. Si vous avez besoin d'une traduction ou d'un résumé, n'hésitez pas à me le faire savoir.
It's clear that it's strange to have an animation like that overnight...
By the way, S.V.T stands for Life and Earth Sciences. You shouldn't hold it against him, in France it's a common term of discussion (it's equivalent to Biology, in case someone didn't understand...).
There you go, I can't really help you, it's true that it's tough...

Yes, with Blender or Cinema 4D, you can create a virtual film, similar to what is used in simulators.
Hi, if you want to be able to do 3D or 2D animation, you need to download:
for Mac OSX: Blender (free) or Graphic Converter (also free). WARNING do not download Pivot, it won't work!
for Microsoft (XP or 2000): I recommend Pivot, but if you want to know more, go to Clubic (go to Google and type Clubic).
I hope I have helped you
Best regards, ANTOINE97

Uh.
Blender Average....
With OSX (which you don’t seem to know about!) you better have a
virtual machine (Like Parallels Desktop).
And run 3DSmax and Softimage.
And by the way, Pivot isn't worth anything... a bit like Windows.

But Blender is awesome, what are you guys talking about! I went to the site to see the real stuff, damn good!!!!! When I read some comments, I feel like Blender is being compared to Paint. Yeah, Paint is crap compared to Photoshop, lol that's for sure, but Blender holds its own. So, I'm a Flash developer and I don't know if I'll dive into 3D, because programming in PHP, AS3, etc. is pretty tough and 3D is the same, so... there you go, I started using Strata, very easy, but I'm still hesitant.
Peace to you all, friends, and good luck to everyone.
Peace to you all, friends, and good luck to everyone.
Good evening everyone, I'm looking for free 3D animation software in French. Can someone help me? Thank you.
Hi, I'm also a fan of animation, so I know some software you can use: 3D Max, Animation Work Shop. I think that should be enough. It was a pleasure to help you, bye!
3DS Max (3D Studio Max) is used by Ubisoft for 3D animation and modeling....
Easier than Blender, it costs however $4,000 US......
And it is highly recommended to purchase it because if one day you get
recognition for your work, it will be better for you to have paid for the license...
A 30-day trial version is available at https://www.autodesk.com/
As for creating landscapes and backgrounds in 3D... same site, see Maya...
Have a good day everyone.
