I had exactly the same problem, it's resolved now.
The scanner must be configured in the same language as the keyboard. It is very likely that your keyboard is AZERTY and that by default the scanner is set to QWERTY. (That's actually why when you press CAPS LOCK, the numbers appear correctly).

The scanner manual certainly offers barcodes or barcode sequences to scan to configure it to AZERTY.

I had the same problem, just activate the caps lock on your keyboard (SHIFT LOCK key).

I am sending out a cry for help. I connected the barcode laser scanner to my PC (not via USB), it's the METROLOGIC MSS951 model. I have no installation guide. When I connect it, the laser lights up and if I scan a barcode, the green light stays on; it seems to know that the scan was successful but the information is not transferred to the PC. I have a few questions:
1/I connected it to the keyboard port; do I need to intervene in the control panel and what should I do there?
2/Do I need to configure the scanner, but how, since I have neither a guide nor a CD...
3/I don't know if I am scanning the correct barcodes...
4/I thought I could scan barcodes and find them in Word or Excel. Do I need to create a macro??? In that case, I don't know how to do it.
My goal is to scan barcodes or even a line of text (about 10 to 15 letters) to avoid manual entry (source of error!!) for the various items I send to my clients.
I have installed the EAN13 and 3 OF 9 codes.

Hello,
What you call a "douchette," I assume is the handheld barcode scanner. Do you at least have the conversion tables and the interpretation software installed?
In order for it to display the correct codes, the software needs to have more than just the basic conversion table from the operating system (EAN code, etc... instead of Greek characters and ASCII).
