Wii: I can't start the game

Hello,
I just got the Wii and I put the game in, I turn it on, it asks me to press the A button, which I do, and then it takes me to the menu.
I can move left and right to change menus with the + and - buttons, but otherwise, I can't select my game, no hand appears, the cross doesn't seem to work.
The same thing happens with the second controller, so I wonder if it really comes from my controllers...
If anyone has any ideas...
