How to create a table of contents in Word 2003

Hello,
I need to create an automatic table of contents using Microsoft Word, I've forgotten the procedure to do it

and thanks in advance
Configuration: Windows XP Internet Explorer 6.0

    Merci pour votre soutien concernant mon problème, mais que j'applique : Insertion/Références/Index et tables...

    et je désigne les niveaux puis je clique sur le bouton Ok, je reçois un message qui dit :

    pour ajouter ou supprimer des éléments dans la table des matières :

    1- Sélectionnez le texte dans vos documents.
    2- Cliquez sur le niveau hiérarchique dans la barre d'outils pour faire apparaître le texte dans la table des matières.

    Did you correctly apply the Title 1 / Title 2 / Title 3 styles for the headings?

    Good evening,

    in Memory (I'm on Nux), Insertion/References/Index and tables...

    However, if you want Word to automate all of this for you, you need to use styles...
