Hello,

I just received a text message from Intrum Justitia asking me to call them at the non-premium number.......I called but no one is answering even though I'm calling during their opening hours........while reading other topics about them, I learned that they are a debt collection company, but I have no idea who they are contacting me on behalf of, I believe I am up to date with all my payments.......what should I do? I'm really stressed.......can someone help me?

Thank you for any responses you can provide.

Intrum Justitia is a debt collection company; it is not allowed to contact you by phone, by email, nor to contact a third party. It can only contact you by postal mail.

The phone number, as well as the email, and the data concerning a third party (work, spouse) are private data that the creditor company has no right to disclose. This is a criminal offense.

A debt collection company can only contact you by postal mail; it can only use your phone number or email to the extent that you have expressly authorized it to do so.

A debt collection company is obliged to inform you on whose behalf it is acting and for what reason. It must provide you with a complete breakdown of the alleged debt. It is not because they claim that you have a debt; very often it is a mistake or abuse.

Thank you for your reply. In the text message I received, nothing is specified; it just says I need to contact them to update my file but nothing more, that's why I don't understand where they're coming from.
In any case, thank you very much for your reply.

Hello,
I received a letter from Intrum telling me that I owed 42 euros to the creditor FedEx Express FR, even though I receive all my parcels by postal service. Additionally, they wrote my address incorrectly and got the city wrong. As a result, I called the number and ended up on an automated system that asked me to enter my banking details. So, I went to the gendarmerie and told them that I placed my orders with a credit card and that they were delivered by the post. They said not to pay because it was already strange that my address was written incorrectly and that the city was wrong; either they made a mistake or it’s a scam.

It's simply a scam with premium-rate phone numbers. You call them and they make a few euros. Since they send thousands of text messages, it adds up.
