My computer doesn't detect keys.

Hello,

My computer doesn't detect some keys on the keyboard, specifically A, Q, and W. I've changed keyboards several times and it's still the same.

I need help, please.

I've tried other keyboards that work, but it's still the same.
Configuration: Windows XP Safari 530.5

Start > Control Panel (classic view) > Regional options ... > select "French (Belgium)" > Languages tab > Details > you remove the existing keyboard: usually French (France) and you add "Belgian (point) and/or "French (Belgium)"

Thank you, Hubert, but that's not it.

Indeed, the A, Q, W keys are not working even though I changed the keyboard.

Try a system restore to a restore point that precedes the problem.
    See you later

To switch from QWERTY to AZERTY and vice versa, I have no better explanation than the one in the link I gave you since post #1: http://www.commentcamarche.net/faq/sujet 162 windows switch qwerty azerty

That's it, I've switched back to QWERTY but the keys still don't work. :/
Is there a way to, for example, assign the A key to F3 which I don't use?

It's possible, look here: http://www.commentcamarche.net/faq/sujet 6847 change the assignment of a keyboard key

However, we should check if your problem doesn't come from an infection. I suggest you present your issue on the Virus/Security forum by posting a RSIT report as indicated below:

Download RSIT from random/random, to your Desktop:

    http://images.malwareremoval.com/random/RSIT.exe

Double-click on RSIT.exe to launch the tool, it doesn't require installation.
Click Continue on the Disclaimer screen if you accept the terms.

If the HijackThis tool (updated version) is not present or not detected on the computer, RSIT will download it (allow access in your firewall, if prompted) and accept the license.

When the scan is finished, two text files will open.

Post the content of log.txt, the one that will open, and close info.txt which will be minimized in the Taskbar.
It will only be requested if necessary.

Note: These reports are saved in the folder C:\rsit

As for me, I have to be away until tomorrow.
    Have a good evening

Is it resolved or not and does the "A" work for you, or do the keys not function (do not note anything)?
