Crashes et retour au bureau dans les Sims 3

Hello,

A little crash while playing The Sims 3.
It's the first time this has happened to me with this game.
I played on a save for over 2 hours, so the family I was playing with had progressed a lot.
Then suddenly, a black screen, the game closes and I return to the desktop. No error message.
No restart, but I hadn't saved, so I obviously wasted time for nothing. I no longer feel like starting again where I left off :/
A crash that really annoys ^^'
If someone has already had this problem and found a solution,
I would like to know how! I should mention that I had reduced all graphics settings of the game ...
I'm really not good at computers ...

Here is a capture of my setup:

~ Thanks

Hi there, I had the same problem and I called EA. They told me to update my graphics card and sound, but it was already done. Then they told me to go to the Control Panel > System, then in System go to the Advanced tab, then in the Advanced tab go to Performance settings, then the Advanced tab and at the very bottom it says Modify. You type in Custom Size 4000 MB and 4000 MB below as well. And above all I advise you to disable your antivirus and internet. Normally everything should run smoothly; otherwise contact EA!!!

For those who don’t understand, you need to increase the virtual memory.

Hello, I also have this problem. I’m playing and suddenly my game stops and returns to the desktop with the message "The Sims 3 has stopped working." All the latest updates have been installed. I have the Destination Adventure, Inspiration Loft, VIP Access, and Style Garden add-ons. I’ve tried a lot of things, including increasing virtual memory, and nothing works—after about 5 minutes of play it crashes. If anyone has a solution, I’ll take it, because I’m fed up of not being able to play!!!

I have all the addons and updates and it crashes. I have all the computer power needed (even more), no downloads and no songs added... in short... I think it's outright a bug in the game... by the way, if you have put songs of our beautiful national Céline REMOVE THEM!!!

    Hello,
I bought The Sims 3 this summer & when I was playing after 5-10 minutes it crashed & brought me back to the desktop!
I tried everything: updating everything, uninstalling the game ...
In short, no success until I found the solution on a site.

On the bottom right of your screen, in the taskbar where the clock is, there is a small circle with EA written inside. Before playing, right-click on it and choose "Quit". Then once in the game, go back to the desktop (by pressing both Windows keys on the keyboard at the same time) in case EA reopens.
It takes 30 seconds & afterwards you can play :) !

For me it worked and I hope it works for you too because when you feel like you bought a game for nothing, it’s annoying :/.

    Hello everyone,
So I have the same problem as you: my game stops and returns to the desktop without saving, so I’ve gotten into the habit of saving every 10 minutes so I never lose much.
Since today I have another issue; in my family I have a woman, her husband, and the baby for now, and the husband disappears and reappears in the basement of the house all the time or at the bottom of the pool, and even if I remove him with the moveobjects on then off code, he still goes back there systematically. I don’t know what to do and honestly I’ve spent hours with this family; if I have to delete them I think I’ll stop playing!
if someone could help me please
    thanks in advance

I have the same problem, my Sims get stuck under the house. When it happens, I put stairs where it is and that lead up into the room above, and you make your Sim go up the stairs. Once the Sim enters the house you delete the stairs. There you go

Hello everyone! So I may not bring you a miracle solution, but being a big Sims fan, I’ve already encountered this problem. The Sims require a substantial amount of RAM on your computer, and certain programs like uTorrent, LimeWire... make the PC lag. Therefore I suggest you remove all unnecessary programs. Finally, for even better RAM performance, I recommend regularly cleaning your hard drive and especially defragmenting it one or more times a week. That’s what most boosts RAM! Before, I could only play for a couple of minutes at most, after my screen went completely black and my computer restarted without having saved anything, of course. Now I play calmly for about 4 hours a day without any issues as long as I do everything I told you previously. Voila voilou!

Same, except that the game stops right after the intro credits (the opening video). I can't even play for 1 second...
I tried the "minette" solution but it doesn't work.
    I really need help, please!
I always have problems with this game :(

This has already happened to me on another game, Test Drive Unlimited. The game worked perfectly and one day when I left the garage, it said saving in progress and it crashed. I downloaded radialeng 1.5 and there you go! I’ll still look for a little something, otherwise you can send a message to EA to explain your problem or another company, I don’t remember.
Besides, Google doesn’t always give results matching the search I want; sometimes Live Search already gave me a result I wanted, like for radialeng
P.S. Live Search has been replaced by Bing (Beta) or will be soon!

Finally, for some you have to quit before playing and for others during the game. For me, it’s when I arrive at the game that I return to the desktop to quit EA. Because once I had quit before playing and it made it crash... I noticed that when you launch The Sims you need EA, so you should quit it in the game, I think it’s better. Kisses

But I have several parts on VIP access and it crashes with just one of my 3 parts and I still haven't found a solution. If you have one?

I tried playing again and it worked as usual. Probably a crash, the most banal thing x)
I just hope it doesn’t happen again, especially in the middle of a game ><

    Hello everyone

I did indeed have the same problem, whereas my game had been running perfectly for a week, and since then, I can't relaunch the game (I've been trying for four days :( ). I installed the game updates and the computer updates.
So the problem does not seem to come from my computer's configuration, nor from the hard drive, apparently.
I tried installing it on another computer, a desktop this time, and there the installation stops at the moment of the " FullBuild0.package". So maybe I'm just unlucky, but if any of you have a solution, I would be delighted to know it!

    Thank you.

Your problem is quite different, at least for the reinstallation. I had the same issue when I wanted to reinstall my game; the process stops and there’s often no other choice than quitting the installation. I tried installing without internet and without antivirus, still nothing (but try it anyway, it might work). So I installed my game with the EA Download Manager; it allows you to install the game you bought without the CD. If you registered your game on the official The Sims 3 site, you have an EA account with the same email address and the same password. Try it, you’ll see ;)

    Hello,

sorry I don’t have a solution to offer you but otherwise set up an automatic backup if possible to avoid losing everything every time.

Yes, I back up, but my god the saves in The Sims 3 are looooooooooong.
It did it to me again a week ago. In the middle of a game, bam! So if it did it twice I think it will do it again.
I’ll write an email to EA’s technical support.

    Thanks.

I had it happen to me twice in a row yesterday as well, after going into the purchase world (not the store mode). And it is true that it’s impressive how long it takes to save.

That happens to me often, by the way, I have to save regularly. I don’t play every day, and I’d say that 2 times out of 5 it crashes and I end up back on the desktop.

The game creates conflicts with certain antivirus programs and μtorrent as well. That may be a lead.
