Hello,
I'd like to get some information. I just bought a Panasonic DMP-BD60 Blu-ray player, and I'm having a little issue: there is no sound.
So, let me explain. I've connected an HDMI cable from the player to the TV, and I've also connected an optical fiber cable from my amplifier to the player. So, there's the problem: I have the image but no sound.
Is there anyone who can help me?
Thanks.

Eureka, I found it!! Go to audio settings and disable BITSTREAM and switch to PCM instead in the three tables
DOLBY D + DOLBY TRUE HD PCM
DTS/DTS-HD PCM
SON MPEG PCM
There you go, that's the solution; I had to fiddle around a lot because Panasonic has remained unresponsive despite my numerous calls
It's a very good Blu-ray DVD player, but I’ve lost trust in the brand due to their lack of seriousness
I have a Sony Bravia LCD screen and a Sony recorder player, and for the settings, Sony has really shown
great competence in helping me; I just regret that they did not include a USB 2.0 port, which is what made me choose Panasonic, which now that the issue is resolved, fully satisfies me. -

Same audio issue with the PANASONIC DMP-BDT165 Blu-Ray 3D player.
Sound works with regular DVDs but not with Blu-Rays.
I followed the procedure and set PCM everywhere and it works.
THANK YOU. -
A big thank you to you because I had the same problem. When playing the Blu-ray, there was sound only for the trailers but not during the movie playback.
So I used the remote control of the Panasonic recorder-player and I pressed the "option" button, then went into the sound settings. The rest you already mentioned. Thank you so much! -

You need to check if the optical plug is properly engaged in the player, push hard until you hear a "click,"
then check on your amplifier if you have configured the sound reception correctly, see what your amplifier can receive.
Good luck. -

Hello, I have the same problem but only with the multi dts format; we can restore the sound by pressing the search command, but the image will be slightly accelerated, which is very unpleasant. I tried to contact the Panasonic technical service, who was supposed to get back to me but never did, so for me, I don't want to hear about the brand anymore, and I'm going to buy a Sony player; at least it's reliable and serious!!!
There isn't this problem with multi digital and true hd playback.
