Hello,
I'm coming to this site because I have a small problem that I can't solve and I would like to find a solution as it's quite annoying. I downloaded Mumble to talk with friends. The issue is that when I speak, my microphone works but no one can hear me. I go to the audio assistant to see if my microphone is working and it performs well during the test. So I don't understand why my friends can't hear me.
If you have had the same problem and found a solution, thank you for helping me.
Regards, SaM-

So here it is, I had the problem with the microphone that "works" according to Mumble but that no one can hear...
In fact, your voice is being erased by the noise suppression filter.
To fix the issue, go to "configure" and then "settings".
Set the advanced options, and on the first page, you'll see a line: "noise suppression", and just move the slider to turn it "off".
Hoping to have been able to help. (lemoustiquaire@hotmail.com)

Digging this up, I have exactly the same problem, and Mumble is the cause.
I have a PC running Vista and a working microphone. I was already using Mumble without encountering any particular issues before.
But I did this update that the program kept prompting me to perform, and since then: a microphone that is detected but produces no sound, even yelling only registers very low activity.
The strange thing is that since this new version, despite uninstalling, the situation remains unchanged, meaning the problem persists in Skype or elsewhere as well.
I want to clarify that my microphone is plugged in and in the right place, it is detected, and the volume is set to maximum.
I have also already searched for drivers and reset the microphone settings.
I am begging you for help....

Hi, I don't have exactly the same problem, but for over 6 months with two Logitech USB headsets on Mumble 1.2.4
everything works well
if I stay AFK at night after 5 to 10 hours I lose the microphone
when I press ctrl, nothing lights up
and nobody can hear me and I can't hear anyone
if I log off from Mumble overnight in less than 4 hours I lose the microphone too
I have to
1 reboot the PC
or
2 launch TS
unless TS crashes on launch, which happens 5 times out of 10
I have to reboot the whole PC
I think this is related to Mumble's voice service
I don't know why it gets deactivated
and why sometimes TS reactivates it
I also have Skype
I'm not sure if it's related
does anyone have an answer to this problem?

What you're describing seems to correspond to an automatic microphone deactivation due to inactivity... (and mumble disconnection after such a long period of inactivity). As long as the microphone is picking up sound, everything is fine, but if you stay too quiet, it deactivates.
If you lose the microphone without mumble running, it must be directly related to your hardware. By the way, how do you test your microphone in that case?

For Mumble, I might have a solution, but for your Clap problem, I don't know. So for Mumble, you need to configure a key to make it work better, well, I'm good with that. Then you go to configure and there you have to set your Dolby according to your microphone, so you do some tests, you set it first at the beginning, then at 50, then at the end. There you go, let me know if it works or not.
Hello everyone, so I had the same problem as you and I just found it out. It’s not because of Mumble, it's coming from Windows. What you need to do is obvious, but like me, you probably didn’t think of it, so here’s the solution: go to your control panel, go to the sound tab, and do the basic settings for your microphone, and there you go, it should work.
And do you have the same version as the one used by the other people?
You can always check the sound settings on your computer to see if you haven’t turned it down to the bare minimum.
And possibly, check on a site if you have the correct drivers for your microphone.
(automatic detection of updated drivers for your PC: https://www.touslesdrivers.com/index.php?v_page=29
or http://www.ma-config.com/fr/demarrer/1-1,demarrer-la-detection.html )
These are completely free sites.
And if mumble doesn’t indicate that your microphone is working... Well, check if your PC is using the correct input. Or if your microphone is compatible with your OS and mumble.
Hoping to have been able to help you.
Roillale
P.S.: If you still don’t have a solution, you can email me at my inbox. And I can work on your puzzle with you for a while directly.
