Hello, I am very very annoyed by someone who harasses me with incessant emails.
I know my question is not "top" but I ask it anyway:

Is it possible to crash a computer remotely (without serious harm)?

It's possible with a remote control software, but you'll still need the owner's consent, and if your action is malicious, it's punishable ...

The simplest (and most effective) is to configure your mailbox to eject spam messages ..

What is your messaging software, or your ISP (most allow you to manage inbound spam on your mailbox) ??

Hello, and thanks for your reply, but you understand that this person does not agree for me to go on their PC! lol and they don't want me to recover documents that belong to me... what I would like to do! apparently it's complicated... oh well

I simply wanted to tell you that remote action could never be done without the PC owner's knowledge, and it was evident in this case that you could not consider it...

The recovery of your private documents is a different issue from the one initially exposed, which concerned unwanted messages... Only physical access to the PC would allow you to recover them, provided you could enter the session. Again, this could be akin to a violation of private property. In principle, you cannot seek justice for yourself.

Regarding these unwanted messages, go to your email management; you should find all the possibilities to filter and/or delete the annoying messages coming from a given address, and no longer find them in your inbox.

You can also threaten your correspondent with legal action; that might make them think.

You can also change your email address, but that’s a bit more of a hassle for you.

You can also raise the issue with MSN, providing proof of harassment. They surely have means of retaliation against your correspondent, for example by deleting his mailbox. I believe they are very attentive to these problems.

In short, you still have quite a few legitimate and honest ways to react.

And there would be others, but not publishable here, due to the code of conduct...
