Hello, to solve the issue of crashing your son's computer, you need to:

1- Restart and power it on multiple times, and eventually the computer won’t want to connect anymore.

2- Open the case of the central unit, and splash some water on it (Keep the computer on!)

3- Remove some small green squares (What we call "peripherals"). Just take them out.

** The kind of things I'm showing you are the things I've already used for my son, who was too addicted to his computer playing video games like World of Warcraft; plus, he was stealing my credit card to pay for these games. I also took him to the police station to explain why he does all this, etc., etc... Now he doesn’t get into trouble like that anymore. So I hope this helps you... **

I know how to create programs that block the computer when opened; if you want one, I can provide it, and you can configure it to open automatically in your son's session and not in yours. But the problem is that afterwards, to turn off the computer, everything has to be unplugged, and that can damage the computer :/
But it must be less "damaging" than spilling water on the CPU (see Cyril's post).

Because if you try to break the computer, don't think he'll just sit idly by; he'll try to find a way on his own, which could make things worse!
There are radical methods... Offer him specific hours during the week to play, and stick to it; otherwise, no more sessions on the computer with the internet access removed (no more network cable or changing the WEP key to WPA if it's a Wi-Fi network).
