PS3 Loud noise

Except hitting like a fool in the game, I don't think so ^^

It is especially important not to place it on a carpet or anything else. It should be placed on a flat surface with plenty of space on the sides and the ambient temperature should be good. This may seem like a lot of conditions, but the fan will run slower and won’t make as much noise as in "FAN TEST" mode. I had the same problem as some people; I placed it on my floor (which is wood) in my room and HOP! The maximum speed of the fan is now level 2 ; )

It makes a noise little by little and then it's a big racket, and when I go back to the main menu it still makes the noise, is that normal? (Please respond quickly!!!)

Nothing too serious in all of this; it happens when the console is in a hot place like in a piece of furniture, it needs to be "ventilated."

Hi, this happened to me twice; it’s dust that blocks the ventilation. A good vacuuming as indicated in the PS3 manual (that is, not too strong on the suction) is what you need. It’s written in the instructions that you should vacuum...

So disappointed, I just bought a Playstation 3 slim 320Go and it's making an awful noise. As soon as I lift the front of the console a bit, it stops. Really suspicious. I'm going to take it back to the store hoping to exchange it since I've only had it since Monday.

Edit: I pressed a bit underneath it and since then, there's been no more noise. Suspicious... that means I can't return it now since it’s not making noise anymore. I just hope it lasts indefinitely!

I had the same problem but it was because of a tab that was moving and making a clack clack sound, which was annoying, so I took apart the PlayStation and fixed the issue.

Hello everyone, I have the same problem, my PlayStation 3 makes a lot of noise, but it works fine, and after 2 minutes the noise becomes unbearable :/

p.s.: I bought it on Le Bon Coin for 170 euros, so I thought it was worth it, but now I regret it a little. Can you help me please ;'(

I think this is THE problem with the 40GB. I just sent mine back to customer service for the third time.
1st time: faulty drive, console exchanged; 2nd time: fan running at full speed, console exchanged; 3rd time: fan still running, heading back to customer service. I asked them for an exceptional warranty extension. That's the only thing to do, or to keep it like this, but it's annoying, especially at night.

I just tried the vacuum cleaner and it works!
Before, after 5 minutes of playing a Blu-ray, the fan would go crazy, but now after 1 hour of playback, it hasn't started :)

Same, the fan doesn't stop spinning and I may have an idea, tell me what you think: what if I take off the top cover and put the components in the open air, at least it wouldn't overheat.
