If you want to execute a jar file, open a prompt (Windows key + R then cmd)  and type: java -jar <file name>  Provided that you have previously installed Java Runtime Environment

A JAR file (Java ARchive) is a ZIP file format used to distribute a collection of Java classes.

The jar command included in the JDK allows you to create and extract JAR files. However, they can be renamed with the .zip extension and opened with ZIP tools like WinRAR or 7zip. The Java class JarFile from the package java.util.jar inherits from ZipFile.

Hi,  a JAR file is an archive. You need to decompress it. It's a bit like a Zip. Try winRAR or WinZip and extract your files...

Rename the .jar to .zip and extract everything. Inside there might be an .exe.

Normally, there shouldn't be any problem doing it, only
you will need to install a JDK (Java Development Kit) (or a JRE) and all the libraries that are
necessary (if needed) for the proper functioning of what you saw. Then, you will need to
execute the main class that is located somewhere in the jar.

No one has figured out how to do it in the end.
I have the same issue as you; for a tablet, the apps are .APK files and these files execute automatically. I've downloaded the 20 best games; they are in .JAR and of course, my tablet doesn't open them. If I find a solution, I'll come back.

Hello,  The method java -jar <archive.jar> is valid on all systems with a PATH environment variable (otherwise, you need to use the absolute path to Java instead of java).

Hello Alexandr3 is asking how to execute a *.jar file without unzipping it.
So the solution is here:
Search Google for JARFIX
Install it in the Java directory (program files) and run it, that's it. Then go back to the *.jar file, right-click and run it as an administrator.
