Unable to launch lego star wars

Hello,
Hello everyone,

Following a change of computer, I moved from a desktop computer equipped with XP SP3 to a laptop with Vista SP1 Home Premium 64-bit.
As a result of this OS change, I reinstalled all my software & games.

The installation of Lego StarWars went smoothly, but when I try to launch the application, a window opens saying "the required security module cannot be activated. this program cannot be executed".
After doing a quick search on Google, I saw that this problem is specific to each user, and for some, there is a patch or a different solution.

Has anyone ever encountered this issue and/or the solution?

Note: The message appears even if the CD is not in the drive. I tried installing patches 1.1 and 1.2, which do not detect the game on the computer.

Actions taken:
- Uninstallation/Reinstallation after shutdown and/or restart
- Adding the application 'Legostarwars.exe' to the list of allowed files in Vista

Some people advise manipulating the registry, what do you think? (specific folders for each software)

Thank you for your help
Dark'
Configuration: Windows Vista 64-bit Firefox 3.0.8

Yes, I found out how to do it:
You need to right-click on the Lego Star Wars icon and then click on properties.
Next, go to "compatibility" and check the box "run this program in compatibility mode for..." then choose your Windows "XP-Server..." below.
For Windows Vista, you do the same thing but you choose "XP" and check the last three boxes in "Settings."

There you go, but I downloaded it and when I launch it, it says "insert the appropriate CD."
    HELP PLEASE!!

Same problem with the same game on Windows 7: "The required security module cannot be activated. This program cannot be executed." I tried applying Leviatann's advice, but nothing works, and Windows 7 doesn't appear in the compatibility tab list, the last one being "Vista (Service Pack 2)"... As for the patching manipulations of Dark-Vador, I don't understand anything. But if anyone has a solution, I'm all ears!

    Hello everyone,

I recently changed my PC, upgrading from XP to 7. I've reinstalled LEGO Star Wars 1, but unfortunately, the error message "The required security module cannot be activated. This program cannot be executed" keeps appearing continuously, even after the steps mentioned in your various messages.
If someone has a solution, it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

The solution I found is to install patch 1.2, which can be found quite easily on the internet, and that's it! :D

I don't remember very well what I did, but I think I just installed a patch that works (I still have to reinstall the patch before each game, but it takes 1 second)

I don't quite remember where, but it's pretty easy to find. There are more answers on English-speaking sites, and maybe on lucasarts.com...

So, it's resolved as far as I'm concerned.

All of this doesn’t work; it’s worth buying the original games… I played for 2 hours, and when I restart, I can’t start the game, it crashes at the intro and quits without saying anything… I remember that even when new, I had trouble installing this game; now we have bombs (from 2005 to 2012 still) and it’s still crap… The official site, forget it, they have everything EXCEPT THIS GAME…
