How to read a .bup, .ifo, .vob file Solved

Question

Good evening everyone,

I found a file thinking it was a divx and I realize it has extensions I don't know, I suspect they are DVD files = .bup, .ifo, .vob. So here is my question: which utility should I use to watch my DVD...?

Hello, to read a .vob file, right-click on the movie you want to watch, properties, general,  opens with >>> modify >>> windows media player

I had the same situation, it also works with VLC but the film is fragmented.. darn... I'm going to stress over this a bit more...

Hi, for .vob files I replaced the .vob with .mpeg and I play the videos with Windows Media Player with slight frame drops but very minimal, it's already a little something before you find a better solution =]

Well, I have bup.ifo.vob files in a movie and I can play everything with Nero Show Time. I'm not sure if I'm answering the question correctly.

If you haven't downloaded your movie illegally, just click on the file VTS_1_01.VOB and open it with Windows Media Player and there you go!

Confirmation for those who have this problem: VLC (available for free download online) can play these videos without any issue.

Some standalone DVD players or recorders do not read .vob files other than those they have recorded themselves (e.g., Panasonic DMR-EX 77); on the other hand, I also have a Philips standalone DVD player that plays these .vob films very well that I previously converted from MKV to VOB using the SUPER software. However, I regret that my PANASONIC recorder does not read these films - it's a shortcoming.

Hello!

I have a problem reading an entire DVD of a show..
When I open the file, half of the files are in .bup or .ifo..
Playback stops with RealPlayer, Media Player, and VLC..
Since I'm not very good at converting and such, I'd like to know if there's a software that can just play EVERYTHING correctly.. that would be much simpler! ^^
