Xbox controller issue with Fear 2 PC

Thank you for the explanation because I admit it’s a bit of a hassle without the pad.

The solution is called xinput, a small free software that is easy to configure (emulates a controller).

Same problem with a controller (which is not Xbox but works on all my other games, including FEAR 1). Unable to configure the buttons, and the menu for assigning them does not recognize the controller at all and gives no indication.
A little help to resolve this issue would really be appreciated (and please, no debate on "mouse and keyboard are better than a gamepad" and stuff like that... what's being asked for is help, not a discussion on the best setup).

No salesperson has been able to give me information on this issue! The game box does have the logo of the pad, so I don't understand anything...

Hello everyone, I would like to respond that there is no way to play Fear 2 with a controller except with a small software that emulates keyboard and mouse keys, which isn't very practical. Salut à tous, en effet, ce logiciel permet de faire fonctionner la manette. Il existe beaucoup de tutoriels et d'aide pour configurer tout cela. Pour faire simple, ce logiciel permet de faire croire au jeu que les touches de la manette sont celles du clavier, c'est donc simple, il émule les touches, donc chacun peut y mettre sa configuration.

When I mount the image with Daemon Tool, I get the homepage with "install", "technical support", and "exit". When I click "install", a small Steam page opens asking for the code found on the game case under the disc or in the manual (which didn't ask for that the first time I installed it...) and that's where I'm stuck. Well, I just reinstalled the game and it works great, I’m quite pleased with myself... (for once I managed to do it... lol) As you suggested, Strikker, I downloaded ControlMK... and now... it’s a disaster...!!! If anyone has the settings for this software to play Fear 2, that would be really cool because right now, it’s all Chinese to me, I don't understand anything...

Tout d'abord, ravi que tu avances enfin ça galère mais bon au moins on y arrive peu à peu en tout cas pour le logiciel fais comme moi tu notes sur un papier toutes les actions du jeu du genre tirer avancer recharger et ensuite dans un autre temps tu cherches le nom exact de tes boutons de manette du style quel est le bouton 1 2 3 etc. et tu remplaces dans le logiciel toutes les touches du clavier sont inscrites même en anglais ton pour espace par exemple tu trouveras dans le logiciel space et pour chaque touche tu fais ça c'est assez long mais après ça vaut tellement le coup car Fear 2 n'est pas le seul super jeu non compatible manette Call of 4 et Call of 5 ne le sont pas également la rage.
