Hello everyone.
First of all, I apologize if I'm not on the right forum "it's a first time".
So, here it is, after a tough battle with Windows ;-p, I switched to MAC two months ago and I must say I'm the happiest. I'm doing quite well, but there are a few little things I can't figure out: I would like to remove "not delete from the computer" but just take away icons that are useless to me from the bottom bar. If anyone can explain how to do that??
Thank you in advance. See you soon :-)

Hello, the manipulation is very simple (coming from Windows I understand that you might be trying to make it complicated :-p)
The bottom bar, as you call it, is called the Dock. To remove an icon, simply click and hold it, drag it out of the dock area, and then release the mouse. You will see an animation that crumples the icon, and it will disappear...
The same manipulation is possible to add one... Go to the Applications folder (for example) and drag and drop an 'Applications' icon into the dock where you want it.
Best regards :-) -
Hello,
The "bottom bar" is called the dock :-)
To remove an icon, click on it and, without releasing the mouse button, drag it out of the dock. The application itself will remain safely in its folder, probably Applications.
To put the icon back —everyone can change their mind: open Applications or the folder containing the software, click on it and drag it onto the dock.
That's it.

Hello,
It's normal if the application in question is in service.
Have a good evening

Good evening everyone!!
Well, here I am again :-)... So, after this little Dock problem "now I know what it's called ^^" I'm looking for a photo editing software "besides PhotoShop" that is compatible with MAC... But does it really exist?? Maybe, but I can't find it.
If anyone has an answer to my question. Thank you in advance :-D-

Hello,
I have the same problem as clairus, I can't remove certain icons from the dock.
I click on them with the left mouse button, then without releasing I drag them out of the dock and nothing happens?
Can you help me?
Thank you in advance-
Hello,
You are unable to remove certain icons from the dock...
Perhaps it's simply because the application is in use.
To find out which applications are open, just press cmd + tab.
It is entirely normal for an application that is currently being used to not be removable, as it appears in the dock when open.
To close the application in question, do a ctrl + click (which is the same as a right-click), then select quit. Then drag the icon out of the dock to remove it.
Additionally, you may have installed an application that locks icons in the dock, because to my knowledge, Mac OS does not include this feature. I know that OnyX allows you to lock icons in the dock.

Hello,
it's true that the method to remove an icon from the dock is very simple, but the only problem is that when I do it, the icon won't go away and goes back to its place.
What should I do?
Thanks in advance!
