Hello, I lost the receipt for a plasma screen I bought at Fnac four years ago, and I would like to resell it for the best price. For that, I need a duplicate. I heard that Fnac has an obligation to keep receipts for five years, is that true?

At least that's something, but often in a company, they keep them much longer, even indefinitely (archives).
For Fnac (like others), you need to approach them nicely and ask if they can retrieve an invoice because you lost or destroyed it...
Now, to find it, it all depends on the person you’re dealing with and what information you give them and the method of payment. If the person doesn’t care much, they might look a little. If it comes up easily, great, but if it’s harder to find, it’s not easy.
So, try to specify the exact day of the purchase, if possible with an approximate time (morning, afternoon, evening...), the amount of the TV and the invoice amount (hoping nothing else was purchased at the same time!), how you paid (card or check would be easier than cash since they search by name or payment method number)... if you bought it with a loyalty card or not...
The more information and precision you provide, the better it will be.
After that, if it's easy, they can pull it up directly in a few seconds; if it's complicated, it might take weeks or even result in no solution. If it's not immediate, they ask for an address, and it arrives by mail a few weeks later.
