Good evening,
I posted an ad yesterday on this topic, without any response:
- for a few days now, my address at wanadoo.fr is no longer recognized: I cannot receive or send messages, I am asked for my password every time, an alert appears saying:

"Failed to send the username. The mail server pop.wanadoo.fr responded: due to authorization."

This is very annoying for me because this address was shared with all the administrative sites, the other one at altern.org, which has no issues, is meant for my friends and fellow activists.

In short, I would like to understand and recover this address at wanadoo.fr which is "disappearing" and is causing me a big problem!

Thank you.
Babeth.

Good evening, since Wanadoo was purchased by Orange, it is to them that you need to ask for information

I don't see any other possibility

    Best regards

Yes, I know since my internet provider is Orange and I have an Orange address as well.
This address at wanadoo.fr has been working for years, Orange or not!
So, my ISP has nothing to do with it.

Good evening again. I agree with you and I'm in the same situation. I have a wanadoo address (which still works) and I'm with Orange, so since Orange bought Wanadoo, they are indeed responsible for the follow-up. When typing the Orange address at the bottom left, it clearly says: awaiting static wanadoo...
For me, you need to contact Orange (good luck)

    Best regards

So, first of all, thank you for your response (I hope you don't mind me using the informal form), you have a working address at Wanadoo, I am currently clarifying that mine has not been functioning for just a few days, even though I have been an Orange customer for 3 years now and there has never been any problems...
That is what I would like to resolve, my password is no longer recognized and on my Orange email (which I never use because it is so "simplified"), I tried to retrieve my Wanadoo address, and a message tells me that my address is unknown!
I am waiting for help with everything I have just added, maybe...
      Thank you.

Good evening again, and sorry for the delay:
I understood the problem well, but the new ISP for Wanadoo is!!!! Orange, so you need to claim with them.

I have been a customer since "Itineris" with Orange, but that means nothing to me: for me, Orange is just an email service like the others but with a lot more connection problems and other issues. I don’t want to paint a negative picture, but they are not reassuring.

I believe we need to get in touch with Orange and try to resolve the issue with them.

    Best regards,

    Sussi

I just spent 45 minutes with the 3900, Orange's technical support, and nothing worked... They want the account number created over 15 years ago... I haven't kept a document that old, and I repeat, this account was working 3 days ago and has been for years!

Honestly, it's simple, my ISP is Orange, but it's my address that's causing the problem: when I tried to transfer a friend's account, her address was recognized and I could have accessed all her emails in my Orange inbox, knowing her password... so the problem lies elsewhere, I think.

I'm giving up and will try again in 72 hours, but Orange has nothing to do with it, I stand by that.
Thanks anyway, this situation is costing me a lot!

It's not easy to get help from Orange.

Well, let me tell you that I contacted Orange, nobody understands anything (or doesn’t want to understand!) and I’m in trouble, the messages from @wanadoo.fr are lost, the ISP is washing its hands by telling me that the "migrations" were planned since 2007...
But to the question "you could have warned your clients to back up their data," I received no answer.
So, it’s best to warn those who still have an address at wanadoo, back up everything and inform your recipients of this address.
      Best regards, Babeth.
