Horizontal ascending sort

Hello,
In Excel 2003,
is there a method that would allow sorting not by a column field, but by a row field?
I have words broken down into letters and I would like to be able to sort these letters in ascending order on the same line as the decomposed word without doing it manually.

I tried this (found through research)

"To sort data horizontally, simply select the data to sort, then click the Options button and, in the "Orientation" panel, specify "From left to right"!" published in 2006

but I do not have an orientation panel in the Tools\Options menu.
I have a 'Transition' panel where I could find "From left to right", but this option is already checked

Thank you for any help or tips you can provide.
Configuration: Windows XP Internet Explorer 6.0

    Hello,

Yes, it is possible in Excel 2003. You need to select the cells to sort in rows and then go to the menu:
Data / Sort and in the window that appears, click on the "Options" button at the bottom left.
There is a section for orientation that allows you to check the box "from left to right".

    See you later
