Hello,
So, here it is, I have an issue with my iPhone (3G, 16GB)...
It’s not locked to a server and it never has been, but when I tried to reset it, I waited for the two hours as requested and then I only got the apple logo, then the spinning wheel, then it blinks and back to square one.... I really don’t know what to do to be able to use it. I checked other forums, but unfortunately I have no information to give you about this iPhone since I bought it on a site and the seller is nowhere to be found to ask questions... So I don’t have any clues to provide you :s
I admit I don’t know anything about computers and I’m not sure what to do anymore..
If someone could help me it would be really nice. I’m a bit (mega) lost...

Here is the solution:
Iphone turned off, connected via USB, iTunes running.
You need to enter DFU mode:
- press Home for 5 seconds
- while still holding Home, press Power: 10 seconds
- while still holding Home, release Power and keep holding Home for 30 seconds
iTunes reacts and detects an iPhone in recovery mode, confirm, and the iPhone will be restored.
Then no more problems.

To begin with, is your iPhone off now? I know some emergency key combinations to help address your issue:
Restart: Turn off the device by holding the power button until a red slider appears. Confirm to turn off... To restart, press the power button until the Apple logo appears.
Unlock: Before restarting, you may try to unlock the stubborn app now by pressing the home button for 6 seconds.
Reset: To reset, press and hold the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons simultaneously until the Apple logo appears.
Delete: Incorrect operation may be due to poor synchronization. Try selectively deleting with iTunes any content that may cause erratic behavior, such as contacts, calendars, music tracks, photos, videos, or podcasts.
Reset Settings: Two options: go back to factory settings while keeping your media OR reset to factory settings and delete all your media. In both cases, you need to go to the Settings>Reset iPhone menu and confirm the successive alert messages.
Restore: If your iPod/iPhone remains inaccessible, try restoring it using iTunes. Is the iPod connected and recognized? Then select the iPod/iPhone in the Devices section of iTunes, and then click on Restore in the Summary tab. All content on the iPod/iPhone will be erased.

I have the same problem. I did everything that was mentioned above, like pressing the power and home buttons, etc.
And still, there is this damn apple logo that is driving me crazy. What should I do, please?
If there is an explanation on apple.com, can you point me to it or which title to look under, because there are so many titles for each issue, but I don't see one that corresponds to mine.
Oh yes, my iTunes doesn't detect any iPhone.
Thank you, you're saving me.

So I tried it too and it didn't work, but I managed to find it!!!
So you need to open iTunes and connect the phone; it won't do anything, that's normal. Press and hold the round button at the bottom for 5 seconds, then keep holding that button while pressing the power button to turn on the iPhone for 10 seconds. After 10 seconds, release the power button and keep holding the round button until the PC detects the iPhone and follow the instructions.

Hello! I have a problem with my iPhone 3GS. I reset it, but it is still stuck on the loading wheel, it's been 9 hours already. I can't do anything, it won't turn off, it doesn't recognize iTunes, it just stays on the loading wheel! Thank you for your help!
Hello,
For my part, I believe the problem is more complicated.
While I was in the process of sending a text message, the phone completely froze. I then wanted to reboot it. But at that point, it was impossible to do anything.
When I try to turn it on, it says "no battery," so I plug it in. Then it says "Charging... Please wait," and after a while, the white apple appears.
However, there's nothing I can do; it remains stuck there.
If I leave it plugged in like that for hours and then unplug it, the battery supposedly remains empty and still needs charging...
I tried the solution you just mentioned earlier, but nothing works.
Can someone help me???
Thanks in advance!!

Hello, a friend sold me her iPhone 3, but the problem is that when I turn it on, only the Apple logo stays on and nothing else happens. I don’t know what to do anymore, please help me.
Hello everyone... Anyway, I have the same problem as everyone else, I put my iPhone into DFU mode and iTunes detected my iPhone then it asked me for restoration and I accepted........ I just want to know if I need an account in iTunes to restore it or if the restoration will work automatically after the download!!!??? Thank you.
Hi Arsyy, no for the restore you don't need an account, the account is just for making purchases on the App Store. Your iPhone is in DFU, so click on restore to let it restore by itself, otherwise download the appropriate firmware, then press the shift key and restore to open a window where you select the firmware you downloaded and voila, iTunes will start installing.
DON'T WORRY BE HAPPY.

Merci.
Hi William4k, thanks for your reply, but unfortunately it didn't help at all :S
I tried some of your tips, but now my iPhone shows a dead battery...
However, of course, when I plug it in to charge, it doesn't charge...
Also, when I connect it to my Mac, nothing appears, it's not detected....
That's already something, it no longer gets stuck on the Apple logo for now, but how do I get it to charge properly :s (to charge it, I've tried on my Mac, my dad's, and also on my speakers... But nothing works......

Hello, I also had the same problems but with a Sony Ericsson bought in a store. In fact, you must have taken a shower with your iPhone or something like that, and the moisture got inside your iPhone and fried some circuits. What I did was take it to a shop of my operator, and they repaired it for free. There you go, hoping I was helpful to you.
franchement rongeur56, I don’t know what to say but you’re killing it, I tried everything and nothing worked, I followed your instructions, it worked like a charm, anyway, a big thank you, have a good evening. P.S.: the apple was displayed and remained still after a reset.
Solution if you don't have the original SIM card (sold with the iPhone) because without the SIM you won't be able to unlock it.
Hello,
I encountered the same problem as you, my iPhone was stuck with a USB cable asking me to connect to iTunes, and I could only make emergency calls, a friend helped me solve the problem here is the solution:
- Download the original firmware
- Then put it in DFU recovery mode (detailed in one of the posts above)
- Restore the iPhone
- And finally use blackra1n to jailbreak
If you have any questions, feel free to ask.

Hi! It seems that you know your way around iPhones, and so do I, but I'm having a problem with my iPhone 3G not being recognized by iTunes (unknown device). The DFU mode is not accessible (the cable appears but iTunes doesn't detect the phone), I've reinstalled all the Apple software, tested it on another PC with a version later than the latest version of iTunes with no results, and reinstalled the various drivers as well... This issue is not a joke to test you; I assure you that I know my way around iPhones, and honestly, I'm stuck...
The phone is functional; when it's plugged into a power outlet, the little charging lightning bolt does not appear (nor does it when charged through the PC), but it still charges since it hasn't turned off for several weeks or since this problem started...
Thank you for your help, have a great day!!

I'm sending a message to say that the solution lies in the presentation of my previous problem (DFU mode, testing on another PC with a different version of iTunes, reinstalling drivers, etc.). The only thing I hadn't tried was changing the connection cable. It seems that an official iPhone cable is needed to enable the connection again!!!
Hello, I read some of your solutions regarding iPhone issues.
In my case, I accidentally reset my iPhone, so I put it in recovery mode.
The problem is that I can only make emergency calls. I saw this solution:

I would like to know if this works if I don’t have the original SIM card (which is my case) and if so, how do I put the original firmware on the phone since I only have access through a computer.

Merci d'avance.
Hello,
I had the same issue with the battery that wouldn't charge anymore, I had tried both with the wall adapter and with my PC.
So I tried restoring my iPhone 3G Version 3.0. Since then, charging has been able to work.
In fact, it was due to a poor synchronization of my apps; the apps were updating and since they hadn't completely finished, they were in a pending update state, which caused this overload.
Since the restoration, I haven't had any issues.
I hope this helps you.
Best regards.

after a thousand and one nights trying hoping that my iphone would be recognized, so I voted for the connector (it's dead) so I performed an autopsy on my iphone, I removed my connector, and with a magnifying glass I found that 2 pins were detached from the connector ribbon. the solution; I ordered a charging ribbon and I'm waiting.
as for LYNE's problem, how did it block?

Hello; I just clicked on the option to reset the data and settings on my iPhone 4, but unfortunately the phone got stuck, only the Apple logo is displayed and a blank line... Please, I need your help...
you need to put it in DFU mode and then plug it in ;)
DFU mode:
to enter DFU mode, connect the iPhone to the USB cable (or dock), press and hold the "Home" and "Power" buttons for 10 seconds (the iPhone will turn off), then release the "Power" button while continuing to hold the "Home" button for another ten seconds or so. If everything went well, the iPhone's screen will remain black
