IPhone: no connection, neither Edge nor 3G!

the beast restarted and it works!

I have the same problem since the activation yesterday on my jailbroken iPhone 4G running 4.0.1: No 3G or Edge connection even though the 3G icon appears at the top.

I have tested 2 different micro SIMs: it's still the same.

I tried Appollon78's method but with no success...

I had the same mishap.
After resigning myself to reset the settings and then completely restore it with no results (what a bummer!), here’s the simple operation the seller in the store where I bought the iPhone did:
* Settings > General > Network. Now turn off 3G (O) and turn it back on immediately (I). Exit the menus and try the internet. It worked for me.

Same problem for me, I've already tried everything:
- I turned off my phone by pressing the home button and the power button
- I reset the network settings

One day I turned off 3G when I was at home because it drains the battery, then when I went out I wanted to reactivate it but nothing!

Any help would be welcome

Of course, since the problem only occurs on my 2 4G iPhones and anyway the 3G logo is present with the bars full... And with my old 3G iPhone, there were no issues at all.

mine has lost all edge or 3G connection even though 3G is displayed... also with Swisscom! Completely reflashed, it doesn't change anything about the problem...

I bought the iPhone on Tuesday, and after half an hour of leaving the store, I had no connection anymore.
I called the Technical Service the next day and I'm still waiting for their call.
I find Swisscom's technical service very annoying, but well...

In my case, it's really strange. We have 2 4G iPhones at home with the same carrier (Orange, to be precise) but on 2 different and independent plans.

Outside the house, there seems to be no issue, but as soon as we get home, there's no 3G reception (despite the 3G icon in the top left and the bars fully lit). I really don't understand where the problem is coming from...

Fortunately, we have Wi-Fi at home, but that means when we're home, we can't receive or send MMS (because that goes through 3G). The same goes for the specific iPhone messaging...

Dites-moi quel est votre forfait et vérifiez si votre carte SIM est bien 3G ! Puis allez dans vos réglages après avoir éteint votre téléphone. Il est aussi possible que votre réseau soit faible.

Hi everyone, after struggling all night trying to understand why suddenly the network disappeared from my iPhone 3GS, and after unsuccessfully attempting all the steps discussed in this forum (restarting the phone, turning 3G off and on in settings, resetting network settings, plugging the phone into the PC,...), I just realized that it was actually a problem with my operator (Orange in this case, without naming names), and so after a whole night, here comes the 3G back like a flower at 6 AM, just when I'm stupidly downloading the new iTunes version to install version 5 for my iPhone.
Thanks to our operators who, for most of us I'm sure, really made us struggle!

I have the same problem as you. I called the Orange hotline, but they can't do anything. In fact, we call the Maghreb... So here's a little advice: run away! I have to pay 69 euros a month for a service that hasn't worked for two years, and if I cancel, they still ask me to pay! I'm glad I switched operators...

I have an iPhone that doesn't pick up 3G or Wi-Fi, everything is activated but it doesn't change anything. I have set "wapsfr" but it doesn't change anything. If someone could help me please!!!!!!!

I believe there simply aren't any edge or 3G networks everywhere.
