Connection issues with Onkyo SR 606

Bonjour, I am equipped with an ONKYO SR 606 amplifier, a Sharp full HD TV, a regular Sony DVD player, and a Canal+ HD decoder via TNT. I connected the HDMI output of my decoder to the HDMI input of my amplifier, and the HDMI output of my amplifier to my TV. For my DVD, I connected it via SCART between my decoder and my TV. Regarding sound, I connected a coaxial cable between the DVD and the amplifier. When I play a DVD and then want to watch TV programs, I switch my amplifier to SAT/CABLE, and there is no image; I have to reset my decoder several times to be able to see the image. On the amplifier screen, it shows that it is searching for HDMI but goes into DSP mode. After several resets, the HDMI connects. I also have this problem when the amplifier has been off overnight; in the morning, when I turn on the TV, decoder, and amplifier, there is no image, and I have to reset my decoder to get an image.
I await your responses to my problem.
Best regards, JUNIOR 29
Configuration: Windows XP Internet Explorer 6.0

Still not, do you have a Blu-ray DVD player because maybe by connecting an HDMI to the amplifier, only the HDMI output would go to the TV, and maybe there would no longer be this connection problem. For my part, my DVD player is connected to the TV via a SCART connector.
      See you later

Hello, for each input of your amplifier in the menu, you need to indicate if it is not on HDMI
SAT button on the remote control HDMI1 or other if you connected elsewhere!
But when you use your DVD that is connected via the SCART, you also need to tell your TV the input you are using, ideally you should connect everything to the amplifier.

Hello, I have Numericable on an Onkyo SR 508. It has 4 HDMI inputs and I select my input on the amplifier. My DVD player doesn't work via HDMI but is connected via RCA and it works with the DVD button on the amplifier’s remote.

However, I have 2 multimedia drives and one of them isn’t working, the "Emtec", everything is pink. I went into the menu to change the video mode but nothing works. When I plug the other drive into the same port, it works, so it comes from the "Emtec" and not the amplifier.

I have the same problem. It has been going on for 6 months and on top of that, it started by itself. I solved the last issue, but I still have the same thing as you. If you find the solution, don’t hesitate. Thanks, JM.

      Hello,

I have the same problem with my Onkyo SR507 amplifier and the Canal + TNT decoder.
Did changing your decoder definitively solve your problem?

Thank you for your future response.

      Best regards.

      Franck.

Unfortunately, the problem persists. I have to turn off my decoder and then turn it back on, the same goes for the TV, and then it works; the process is a bit long.
If you have a solution, please give it to me.
        Thank you in advance.

I haven't solved the problem. Well, I have, by not connecting Canal + directly to the amplifier. I connect it via HDMI to my TV and output the sound from my TV to the amplifier.
For now, this is the best solution I've found.
Apparently, the problem comes from the decoder. Canal should update their equipment....

        Good luck.

On my side, I have a Freebox box and a home cinema PC with an HDMI input. I need to turn on the Freebox TV box 3 seconds after selecting the CBL/SAT input, otherwise it sometimes fails, and it's random. It seems to me that this is due to a lack of standardization between HDMI ports. Grinding one of the pins of the port could help switch or signal the presence of a signal. If this information is not exploited or mis...

I have a similar problem with a completely different setup: Home Cinema PC with HDMI graphics card, Onkyo TR 507 HDMI amplifier, and two video outputs: VGA for the control monitor and Infocus IN 82 video projector.
The same phenomena occur: it is impossible to get an image the first time. You have to "fiddle around" to get the Onkyo to recognize the HDMI signal.

    Hello Junior29
I have exactly the same issue as you and it is getting worse over time despite a hard reset...
Have you managed to fix your amplifier since then?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hello,
Same problem with TX-SR876 and C+ in HD.
I'm going around in circles. I'm going to try exchanging the decoder but I'm skeptical because when I connect my BLURAY player (DENON 2500 BT), I have the same symptoms. I only get sound...
Thanks to everyone for your help.

I have an Onkyo TX-SR607 amplifier with the same problem (no image from a Panasonic recorder via the HDMI output of the amplifier). Solution to try: connect both the HDMI cable and the component cable (green-red-blue) to the amplifier and configure the amplifier for HDMI output and Component output (+ optical cable for sound) at the same time! This works with this Onkyo 607 home theater amplifier and with a Panasonic recorder + HD decoder + Western Digital HD player connected as inputs. But sometimes switching to the recorder sends sound but no image. So, it’s not completely resolved... At worst, if the image doesn’t appear on the screen (I have a projector), you need to go back into the amplifier menu and cancel the HDMI assignment for the recorder to leave only the Component output. The image and sound then arrive correctly but in analog. There may also be a problem with HDCP between the devices... D. B.

Hello, for those who have not resolved their ONKYO and BOX connection issue, I believe I can provide a solution. I had the same problem as many of you: ONKYO TX SR606 and FREEBOX V6, needing to wait for the amplifier to "warm up" for at least 10/15 minutes before getting a picture. Over the months, this became unbearable, and I made several attempts before reaching a relatively satisfactory result.
I connected my box directly to the TV via HDMI, and then, to send the sound to the amplifier, I connected my box to the amplifier with an optical cable to the optical/game TV input of the amplifier. Then I assigned this input in the amplifier settings to the CBL/SAT function.
Sure, I no longer benefit from image upscaling, but I still have HDMI for image and optical fiber (thus digital) for sound.
I hope this can help some Onkyo enthusiasts.

Hello. I have exactly the same problem. My xbox one is connected via HDMI to game/tv, it worked fine for several days. And this morning it doesn't want to. It searches for a moment to connect to the amplifier and no image. However, as soon as I put my Orange satellite for the TV, it works immediately.
    It's really annoying.
