1 hand instead of 1 arrow on the mouse

Hello,
I'm on Win Vista and encountering the following problem:
when I browse the internet, the pointer of my mouse turns into a HAND...
and then it becomes impossible to make text selections or any other precise actions because I'm going around with a big hand instead of having an arrow!!!

Has anyone ever experienced this strange phenomenon coming from elsewhere!!!!
I would like to get my little pointer back.

    Good evening, I don't know about Vista but regarding XP

    Start >> Control Panel >> Appearance and Themes (a screen with an artist's palette) >> in there you have the option to modify the mouse pointer

    Once you have made your choice, confirm with OK or Apply

      I already did… and indeed it changes the appearance of the pointer except when I'm in Internet Explorer where I always have my hand!!!! (like in poker, I keep the hand!)
