Hello everyone,
I just bought a Storex external hard drive and my computer does not recognize it (port not recognized).
If someone can help me resolve this issue, thank you in advance.
Configuration: Windows XP Firefox 3.0.5

Hello Cap Rice, I have the same problem as you with my STOREX MPIX 353 multimedia hard drive. Could you give me the page where you found the drivers, as I can't find any that work? Thank you.

You right-click on "My Computer" or ("Computer" under Vista)

I have indeed changed the cable, nothing else is happening
on the manufacturer's site, no drivers available.

Go to "manage" then "disk management". If it appears, it should be formatted and/or repartitioned. If it doesn't appear, try changing the cable or reinstalling the USB drivers, or check if the manufacturer provides specific drivers.

What do you mean by "unrecognized port"?

So the problem must come either from the hard drive or the USB cable. Try the HDD on another PC and change the cable. Also, check as I mentioned earlier for the drivers, both for your PC and any that may have been required for the HDD (especially on the manufacturer's website).
    Keep us posted.

Ah, well, we're a bit stuck because we don't really know where it's coming from and testing it on another PC would help us figure it out: your PC or the HDD?
